I am a new to growing - Seeking advice

I hope this is in the right place this time.I am new to indoor growing and have read up on it as much as I can but I am a little confused on such things as TDS control and what is EC? If anyone wants to help me out I would be greatful,will be using a bubbleponics system with compact lighting,has anyone had experience with this system?
