I was installing support for my plants and noticed a large green grasshopper. Are they beneficial or is this a problem? I think they eat bugs, don't they?

They eat a bunch of leaves before they might eat any bugs...

Sounds like a locust. Swarms can cause significant crop damage. A few here and there are not likely to cause any harm. You can read here for more information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locust

Whoops, no they eat the plants. I read I can use regular baking flour and sprinkle on the leaves and it will make their mouths sticky and then they will starve.

I would use DE over flour.

Unless you’re plants are showing seriously damage just squish em. I see a fair number, but they’ve never been a big problem.

Might b a katydid.they do eat aphids.. i get them every year on my plants outdoors but have never seen a leaf eaten by them...

How does the DE work better? I have plenty as my pool filter media is DE. I read they are really active at night. I went and looked and didn't see any thanks
