I'm a first time grower an I live in SoCal and made the mistake of putting some seedlings in direct sun which ended up probably being the hottest day ever lol. The seedling drooped and I hoped I could bring it back like the other one that was with it after bringing it back inside but it's been a few days now and this took place this past Monday. I've attached an image of how it looks currently, let me know your thoughts.

Is it salvigable or a goner?

I think i killed it

doesnt look like the best habitat for such a young sprout, dont give up on it,could turn out to be something special.

I snipped part of your picture:

It looks like there's a constriction at ground level. It could be something called "damping off." It usually happens when the soil is too wet and/or too cool. I understand it's fatal. Adding soil to hold it up might help, but I suggest starting another seed.

ill try adding some soil and hold it up, and start a new one as well, the soil is damp, add a little water every few days.

Could you elaberate on what you mean by "not the best habitat"? I guess to give you an idea of the growing style im going for is more outdoors type, no grow lamps etc, started these indoors though. Any advice helps.

This is what they may mean as good habitat. That other stuff you got maybe ok for advanced seedlings but not a sprout. And i think you know better not to put a sprout out into the big outdoor lamp before it's got it's root firmly planted in the soil? I give mine a month of growth then ease it outdoors few hrs. a day and not in the heat/sun blasting. It takes at least 7 days to transition itself from being coddled indoors.

thanks, and unfortunately I didn't know when I could put it in the outdoor lamp. A lot of the stuff I found when researching was growing indoors. But it's my fault for not researching further. You live and you learn and this was certainly a learning experience. What would you say is the best fertilizer for seedlings? I'm just using some organic fertilizer from the box store that I'm using in my flower beds I'm redoing.

Seedlings don't need nutrients for their first few weeks. They use nutrients from their first set of cotyledon leaves. Low doses of nutrients can be added when those leaves start to turn yellow, but even that may not be necessary because by then the roots have developed enough for the plant to use nutrients in the soil.
