Noticing light leaves here at the top of my canopy. This is my first ever grow so I'm worried about deficiency.

Just starting the 4th week in veg, coco coir is the medium, 70/30 perlight mix. Running 2 kind x220 lights at 17inches away from canopy. I use %80 of recommended strength lotus nutrient grow and cal mag. I feed with a ph range of 5.7 to 6.1. I feed once then ph balanced watering twice. So basically I feed 1 out of three waterings. I water 3 times a day spaced out.

I'd leave the light at 80% and back it away to 30", 17" is way to close.
Your plants don't look bad other than they are compact from intense light and a little yellow.
Maybe up the Nitrogen 20% so they green up a bit.
Backing the light off will let them spread out a bit.
Other than that I don't see any deficiency issues.

Thanks! The thing about the closeness is the type of lights I'm running. They are the kindx220. I am running two of those and the recommended distance is 12 inches to 18 inches.

I'm still thinking the lights to close as the nodes are so close together. Very light color. Leaf edges turning up.
Your not burning the plants but they are not liking the light intensity.
The color of your plants also makes me want to up the nitrogen a bit so they darken up some and if you back the light off the plants will have room to grow to the light. Rather than be burned off.
Just my opinion bud. Maybe a few others can chime in. See what they think.

Light height was my first thought, too. I checked online and found this slide for the x220:

I’m not familiar with the nutes you’re using so I can’t comment on that.

If it were my problem I’d drop the wattage (or raise the light) a bit, review the label and possibly give it some more nitrogen, then give it a few days to a week. When it responds, you can start increasing the light again.

400w led at full intensity is way too much for a tent lets said 4*4 during the veg stage. it is safe to keep your led grow lights located somewhere between 24-36 inches.
That said light stress is not always bad if controlled and do not turn into light burn.
Controlled light and watering stress during all stage of grow is beneficial to increase terpenes and THC content if used with moderation.
Another consideration is in how long you will go into flowering mode, make sure your plants are perfectly healthy 2 weeks before as they will stress again once you enter the process.
Like few others said nothing to worry about as you noticed the problems and will probably act in a timely manner

Btw, I’m not a coco guy, I grow in peat mixes. But if I fed in peat at 5.7-6.1, it would be too low. Coco may be different though, I dunno.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that many of today's LEDs can be too intense for tent growing. I'm seeing a lot of shit that we didn't see prior to the last couple generations of led lights.

If you're new to growing, or even new to growing with high ppfd LED lighting, you need to get a PAR meter to get an accurate measure of light intensity. These lighting companies are all trying to outdo each other by making the strongest light possible. That isn't even what you want. Light intensity is great, but only if you have everything else completely dialed. I swear, the lights they make these days are only compatible with high CO2 supplementation.

I've been growing for most of my life. I bought 6 gavita 1930e's and fried two consecutive crops. They are more intense than staring directly into the sun.

If you continue to have issues, try a nice 630w cmh. Plants love em.

Another vote here for backing off the light level to see if they like that better. Just based on the edge curl on your uppers, the light color, and the squat plant shape.

I have a kynd light and I will attest to the statements above. Turn the light down or raise it. Also be careful when flipping to flower, adding the red as the manufacturer recommends will burn the leaves as well.

You're right. They're powerful. So, it's important to match the light to the tent. It's also important to be able to adjust the light (usually with a dimmer knob or by adjusting the height).

I have 240 LED lights in my tents, but I rarely run them higher than 50%. They're at 40% as I write this. There are some advantages to running them at a low percentage of their maximum power. One is less heat. They'll get hot at 100%, but they're barely warm at 50%. I suspect they'll last longer at lower power, too.

Meters are expensive, though. Another method that's free is to learn to recognize when plants are showing light stress. When they are, reduce the light intensity. There is no substitute for being able to read the plants.

If you wanna run big boy lights, you need a meter. Both of the options above are gonna be a hell of a lot more accurate than guessing. Although your guesses will become a lot more accurate after using a meter for a few grows. Get to know your light, just like you get to know your plants. The new LEDs are no joke. I pretty much need a 15' ceiling height to run the gavita 1930s I have at full power.

So backing off the light helped ALOT these are the three plants now so thanks a bunch! Only thing is i just noticed some strange almost burning like symptoms on one or two leaves in the back. Any thoughts? Really only on one or two leaves so not sure what to do.
