Is it the excessive heat and electrical draw that makes these unpopular??
Looking through a spectroscope you can see the entire visible spectrum is represented, no bands or peaks. Anyone know if incandescent bulbs emit UVA?
I'm using one in my indoor setup. Germinating in mushroom compost under the light which is about 2 feet above the medium. It puts out some heat which I'll have to keep a close eye on once I've got a seedling. I'll post some images of my setup later on but would be interested in feedback...
