Hi,
Currently midway through flower, canopy level is sitting at 615ppfd with light pulling 545w from the wall.

Do I continue to ramp it up? What are the things I should be paying attention to when increasing light intensity?

yes . you wanna be between 800-900 umol/m2/s for a photoperiod running 18 hours a day

Okay, will continue to slowly increase but don't think they will all handle that amount but will continue increasing until seeing issues...
I think you had a typo putting 18hrs yeah?

yes I did sorry im very tired. of course its 12.
those levels of light are fine assuming your environment is dialed in

Too easy, I noticed they didn't like much light in veg but will keep pushing it a little each day. What's the first signs to be on the lookout for that it's too intense? Previously the leaves would start canoeing and roll the edge a little but the leaves appear to be able to handlemore abuse during flower

Ppfd vs photosynth 1024x567

they can take abuse but that doesnt mean you should. You have to make sure that your replacing the air enough so they have enough Co2 to gobble and you have to make sure that your plants are transpiring well to handle the heat and intensity otherwise sufficient lighting will become too much lighting.
yes its a good idea to increase slowly into flower if your not sure but if your plants cant handle 800umol halfway into flower then somethings not right
autoflowers are a little different but I dont grow them so I wont blab about em.
from what I hear they do well with slightly lower par levels

how are you measuring the PAR levels with a quantum sensor or are you guessing from a par map ??

I think one of the strains I'm running is a little finicky, but that's comparing it to a GF OG strain which appears to take everything in her stride, can't be certain though as my first run indoors and first time with these strains.

I'm at about 615ppfd and 26.5dli now, will keep increasing 25ppfd a day and see how this go by the end of the week.

I've been using the photone app the entire grow.
I do have a lux meter too but that appears to give quite a high reading...possible they're already getting enough ppfd and my measuring device isn't accurate.
I also just picked up a watt meter, light is drawing 545w right now.

ok that photone app is actually pretty accurate especially if you make a light diffuser to put on your lens.

Will research the light diffuser methods as currently I just use the phone on it's own held at canopy height

get a length on 1 inch pvc pipe and cut a half inch section of it. cut a disc of 80gsm white paper and stick it to one side.
place that paper side up over your lens,
Diffuser

i thought it was a requirement to have a diffuser for the iphone no ? most people just slide a piece of paper over it but this works better

I wasn't aware, oversight on my part for sure. I'm just using a Samsung phone. I will see if I've got some paper around and when lights come on tonight will have a play and record some measurements and see where I'm at.

Samsung ??? oh no lol as far as im aware it was only the iphone that was accurate. unless its changed recently. Im gonna have a look into it too 😆
what light fixture are you running ?

I think most people are using it on Android as iPhone charges $25 for the app

Apparently my phone doesn't require a diffuser according to photone. It states if required the app will tell you...so possibly not required for all devices
