yeah the android phones are horribly innacurate. basically useless. you would be better of looking up the par map for your light
Par map, Like this?

well its showing you the ppfd levels at each spot on a 4x4 square at a specific height
so the third one to the right for example is saying that if you hang your light at 36 inches above your canopy youll get 855umols directly under it.

the 24 inches is maybe a bit high so somewhere around the 30-36 inches would be great

if you want it closer and use the dimmer youlll have to do a bit of maths. without an accurate sensor this is as good as you can get unless you find someone else that has the same light and can relay some settings to you

Little hesitant to believe all they've stated on those maps that's all. When I talk with the light builder he doesn't fill me with confidence lol.

Manufacturer recommended 70% on the dial if in a tent at 12". I'm 60 something percent now

then try around the 70-75% level and keep an eye on em
What's the first signs of too much light pressure you look for? Keeping an eye on yellowing of leaves, pistils turning white, leaves canoeing etc?

yeah if the leaves look like theyre saying F** off man thats too much. its too much.

Haha no dramas.
This first run should hopefully provide some sort of a baseline to work from for next attempt. Actually that's why I got the watt meter to plug into the wall, in future will set light according to power draw so as to eliminate sensor issues with different devices

youve got plenty of power in that light you should be able to tap some good yields from it. you could even put it on a rail and get more coverage out of it.

Fingers crossed mate.
The photos are stacking up well and looking super sticky already. The two autos will be ready for the chop soon, not very big but I don't blame them after being dicked around while I was sorting everything out. They're stinky.

Looks great from here. Id love to have a big grow room but until the legalization train comes to town Ill keep it sensible 😎

I went a little overboard with the tent, I didn't really think how big it was going to be before buying it. I'd have gone a bit smaller if buying again as I only grow for personal use. My main concern was just not needing to bend over and get in awkward positions, like I've needed to do with large scrogs outdoors that had limited access points in the past. If it was smaller I have a feeling it would be easier and cheaper to maintain a steady environment.
Although it's a big tent, I've only got that 1 light for it, but it's fine for 3 photos and 2 autos in there. Still enough room to walk around freely. Next run I will try train earlier, and keep a little lower before flipping. This run plants were 35-45cm at flip @5wks from sprouting.
