I hear ya. Ive got metal in my back so I dont like bending either. I lift my pots up and tie my plants down. Canopy at waist height works for me

I don’t pay anything for photone on iPhone, you can buy additional light spectrums but for full spectrum lights it’s free, I think I paid $5 for the UV/IR spectrumI think most people are using it on Android as iPhone charges $25 for the app
Cheers for the tips. Do you ever check lux with it by any chance too?I don’t pay anything for photone on iPhone, you can buy additional light spectrums but for full spectrum lights it’s free, I think I paid $5 for the UV/IR spectrum
As far as I know only iPhones need the diffuser the androids etc don’t need one but work the same
I just make a loop of paper using Norma printer paper that goes around the phone (cut a 1”x10” strip then just pull nearly tight and tape it on the back, when I wanna check my readings I just slip it over the top of the phone, works great lol, I just keep the loop in my tent net pocket so it’s always there
I do not, it’s 5am but was just in the tents lol I keep my veg tent around 400-500ppfd for an 18 hour light cycle I don’t really measure much elseCheers for the tips. Do you ever check lux with it by any chance too?
Really appreciate all the details, it helps a lot. I can't believe it but somehow I've been using a different ppfd app on my phone by mistake. I will check with the actual photone app tonightI don’t kill them in flower, never had the need to,
Other tent I run around 700-750 PPFD at about 12-18” all through flower if branches get closer they get a bit more but I try to keep my lights high in the tent and let the plants grow into them, usually I way under run my lights around 400w on a 640w light and 500w on a 850w light, I just like nice even coverage across the canopy, higher power I find just causes more RH / temp control issues needing to add AC’s and dehu’s, with reasonable PPFD and a decent lung room you can save a lot on power
Gotta take new pics tonite I believe that’s lower than I have the lights now I raised them 2 days ago

Can't believe it ay. I forgot where the app was in the phone, so have just been typing ppfd in the search bar and clicking on the app that appears, but I've obviously downloaded a different app at some point which appears on my search instead and I've just been assuming that was the photone app.
reminds me when i did my first run on coco with a broken pH pen someone gave me. fkn nearly pulled my hair out trying to work out what was going on.
Mike makes a good point that you really dont need to drive your environment to the absolute edge of the envelope.
balance tends to serve you better than extremes
good shit. I just remember watching shane at migro do a test and it showed the android version of photone was useless but that was a while ago and fk knows what phone he used but yeah Ive found it to be amazing on my phone. its served me well. I defintiely dont need to buy a $500 sensorI laid my Samsung 9 on the floor and compared the photone readings to the PPFD map at different heights published for my ViparSpectra. Negligible difference. I also picked up a distance/intensity tip that I'm trying. Farther away and more intensity in veg and the opposite in flower. This was suggested since I train a flat canopy. Hope I didn't interrupt.

Hi,
Currently midway through flower, canopy level is sitting at 615ppfd with light pulling 545w from the wall.
Do I continue to ramp it up? What are the things I should be paying attention to when increasing light intensity?
I find that without CO2 my sweet spot is just over 700 ppfd.Hi,

Beauty, appreciate it.I find that without CO2 my sweet spot is just over 700 ppfd.
The reflective surface insides reflects more when it's closed that's allSomething I've noticed when using the Photone app is that it has higher readings with the tent door closed than it does with the door open. So, I put the phone where I need to measure the light and close the door except for a small opening at the top. Then I look at the phone through the opening. I think that's more accurate.
I mostly don't use a light meter, though. Instead, I watch the plants and adjust the light by what I think they need. The last time I used the Photone app was when I added a new veg tent and moved some plants. The Photone app helped set the light in the new tent to about the same level as the light in the old tent. I also use a wattage meter at the plug because it helps make small adjustments.
