Ppfd is at 800 now, pulling 600w from the wall.maybe your 600 is 800![]()
I'm at 22 days flower and I measured mine tonight before lights off.Ppfd is at 800 now, pulling 600w from the wall.
Appreciate the info mate. Possibly I can keep it creeping up a little over next week or two but will see how they look in a couple days.I'm at 22 days flower and I measured mine tonight before lights off.
It's at 1150 in the center and 850ish at the edges. and my plants seem to be taking it fine. Of course, my temps are up to high 80's and I know my ambient c02 runs like 900, my grow bro lets me use his co2 meter in exchange for the use of my ppfd meter. So YMMV. I'm fairly new (3 yrs) at indoor growing so don't rely on my current experience.
I just have to figure out when to start lowering both light and temps. I asked Jeremy on Discord, I'm hoping he'll answer it on a Faq.
The difference is obviously due to reflected light. There will be less reflected light when the door is open, and the meter reading will be inaccurate. So, taking a light reading with the door closed is closer to the plant's actual environment. The reflective surface insides reflects more when it's closed that's all
I cant see the mylar reflecting more than a few percent, so the difference should be negligible. The difference is obviously due to reflected light. Thanks Nick.![]()

I noticed what I thought were non-trivial changes when I compared readings, but I'm sure that depends on the size and shape of the tent, and probably matters more in smaller tents. It's just something to think about. I've experimented with light meter apps, but don't use one. I try to read the plants and adjust the lights using a wattage meter at the wall outlet.I cant see the mylar reflecting more than a few percent, so the difference should be negligible.
But hey, to a grower every photon counts, right?
Thats they way I've done it the last few grows. Like every 3 days I'll turn it up a notch. Thanks Nick.
When they changed from 18/6 to 12/12, they doubled the power from 300 to 600 watts. So, the DLI stays about the same after the flip. I've thought about this and have been increasing my light after the flip, but I've done it gradually over several days. I have a plant vegging in a 2x2 that'll flip in a few weeks. It's sativa dominant that stretches a lot, so I'll watch to see how doubling the light affects the stretch.
anyone read it all?Thats they way I've done it the last few grows. Like every 3 days I'll turn it up a notch.
