I don’t like posting stuff like this because it really ruffles peoples feathers… But I am a trained chemist and IMO these are the gold nuggets more people need to be reading/discussing.

Without any cloudy days, rain-less days, and with intense lighting, the terpenes are better preserved on indoor plants. Outdoor dew points and high humidity can inhibit resin production on outdoor plants. That being said, I have grown the same strain many times indoors and outdoors in the same year. The indoor-grown plants always had more trichomes that were well-formed with a stronger aroma. Indoor resin seems a little more clear and takes longer to turn amber. My fav is always indoor next to outdoor. I like them both.

i've read the results discussion and have my interest now sparked
im figuring that the circadian molecular timing in outdoor plants receiving the changing spectrum of light given to them, are producing hormones that indoor plants grown under constant spectrum do not. hormones that lead the plant to make changes within itself in response to the changing spectrum of sunlight.

more maybe but are they oxidized and degraded trichomes

so theoretically ub-v increases activity within trichomes but no relation to amount of tricomes

Cool. Thought people would lose their mind. Another important note from the article deals with monoterps and sesquiterps. Wanna know why that super danky dank smells sublime but doesn’t deliver in taste. Monoterps burn off at lower temps. So that Grape Gas taste good til the finish because it has a decent ratio of ses/mono.

Just takes time for breeding/genetics to shift towards greenhouse loving gals.
