Ionizers to Clean Air

Would using an ionizer help out in keeping the smell down in a room that is already well vented or would the air even stick around long enough for a difference to be made?

from what I have heard, ionizers only help on smell a little bit. and if there is a lot of airflow through the room it might not help at all.

they can also be not so good for your health

an ionizer in the room, and an ionizer/air filter outside. cause high o3 levels can be unhealthy, but low levels actually seems to benefit the wellbeing of most living things.
