Very safe. It's the pupae and larvae that do the damage to the root system so a drench for 3 water cycles will take care of that problem
and have absolutely no effect on your flowers. Before I learned to water properly and provide air circulation I would take care of the gnats with a drench using the Bits.

It’s BT and safe to use.

Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a species of bacteria that lives in soil. It makes proteins that are toxic to some insects when eaten, but not others. The proteins are not toxic to humans because, like all mammals, we cannot activate them.

Bt is a bacterium that is not toxic to humans or other mammals but is toxic to certain insects when ingested. ... Over two decades of review, the EPA and numerous scientific bodies have consistently found that Bt and engineered Bt-crops are not harmful to humans.
