Well I'm about to flip to 12/12 in a few days, and I read on the KB bottle that it should be introduced during the veg/flower transitional phase and first few weeks of flower.

Should I refrain? This is the first time I used KB before.

I'd definitely chill out on the KoolBloom. If you want to introduce a P/K boost to jump-start flowering, I'd start with a much smaller dose and gradually build up to the 5mL. Also, I'm not the most familiar with GH recipes, but if you haven't, you may want to do some research as I'm not sure that you want to be using that 1:1 ratio.

As for the magnesium, with 10mL CalMag and tap water, you shouldn't be having a deficiency. I'd guess a magnesium lockout due to the KoolBloom's additional potassium.

ok I will cut out the KB for now. Perhaps a flush is in order?

Was considering hitting it with more Micro/Cal-Mag, but if it's locked out like you said, that would do more harm than good.

A flush would definitely help to get your babies back on track. I wouldn't dose with more CalMag if you're already at 10mL.

I noticed that you don't have an pH or TDS meter yet. IMHO, these are tremendously useful and I'd certainly recommend the investment. HT--I definitely see some heat stress on those 2 leaves on the lower left. Is that old or new? What are your temps and humidity? Have you recently changed light height, intensity or anything? It does look a like an Mg problem, but not because you need to add more. By looking at your plants I would guess heat stress or even high pH judging from the leaf wrinkle is why it's not absorbing. Also, I imagine all that extra P and K from the bloom formula could be blocking some out.

I gave them a flush this evening and fed them ever so lightly with 5ml of Micro & 2.5 ml of Cal-Mag, we'll see what happens tomorrow.

My next investment is definitely a PH/TDS meter, any recommendations? The LHS tried to sell me a Hanna 9813, but I was interested in a Blue Lab Truncheon.

I believe that is old heat stress from the veg cab, the temps right now are between 77-80 degrees and 42-4% RH. I moved them from a 75w CFL veg cab to this HID cab but that's about it. I would say the leaves are about 16-18" away from the glass.

Here is a update from tonight. I'm letting the soil pots dry out a bit before hitting them with one more feeding before I go 12/12, I'm thinking within a few days hopefully. Would 5ml/Micro & 10ml/Bloom be too much to feed them? I feel like they are still a bit yellow to flower.

after seeing the last pics I'm going to recommend feeding with more N and less of everything else. Keep it simple: N in veg and into the first few weeks of bloom, then transition to your PK.

thanks for the tip, do you think I should just run Micro only, or would the Micro/Bloom combo work better? Should I add cal-mag for some N too? I felt like they needed N bad too, but I guess my attempt somehow locked them out from accessing it?

I'm tempted to pick up a cheap dropper pH kit just to have some sort of idea for now.

I am going to start with one of my all times favorites - time for a Clearex flush to try to get back to a clean slate in your medium and rootzone.

Unless it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight or some FedEx shit like that, change your few days to about two weeks.

You want them bitches hitting the stretch healthy with their structure and your particular growing area. Can make a noticable difference in yeild and quality.

Before the flush though, tell us a wee bit more about yer withces brew and how you arrived at it and then read every post by Delta.

And then leave that site. It is a US server and is riddled with a bunch 'o inbred behind the scenes drama that has been brewing for a decade. That is the old HC before it shut down in 2006 and then reopend as GardensCure. HC is the source of my bane of pH charts.

Regarding my "witches brew", it's basically a reversed form of the Lucas formula, I saw Swerve reccomend it on here regarding Cali Kushes.



I can probably wait a little while longer to flip to 12/12, I plan to run a perpetual grow and add more flowering plants as time progresses, I'm shooting for 1-2 plants every 30 days, so I can't take up ALL of the room, but I see your point.

People that grow a lot of OG Kush stuff are fans of the CalMag for sure. One of my strains that I talked about being an Mg whore is OG related. I don't know if some of these plants actually need more micros in the rootzone or if they are merely more sensitive to the conditions, like pH, to exchange.

One thing to remember when using recipes like this that use micros as a N source is that if you copy the recipe, you need to copy the grow room conditions as well.

An example being your light. You are using a 400W, whereas Swerve, I am sure, is kickin' 600's at least and probably thowies. Point being that increases the plant's metabolisim.

More light = more nutes
Less light = less nutes

So, your recipe might be suitable, but at a lesser strength. Same proportions, just a bit less or diluted in say, 1.5 gallons of water first.

I will say this, an RO filter is one of the best investments a stoner can make. RO filters can make micro nute problems go away like magic.

As far as the site, it was the link I posted. That is a great thread and as far as I know Delta introduced LST to the rest of us stoners. No offense to the author, but there is a sticky on this site that proclaims to lay out how to LST, but it doesn't.

Go to the source - Delta. As far as Garden's Cure, a few good old skool threads, but I don't like it. It has been around for awhile (used to be Hemp Cultivation before OG going down in 2006 changed things). The server is in the US for those not in med states that fear the feds a bit, but mostly it is the behind the scenes drama that bothers me the most.

And then Smokinrav has a good training thread here too. The point being, it looks like your next round of plants could benefit from some LST to fill your space better, create a better and more even canopy, and last but certainly not least, MORE SHIT TO SMOKE.

I see saltr posted a link. I love that site. I don't know how precise the nute calculator is, but I think it is close enough if it is off. Run those nutes you use and then post the ppm profiles. Let's see what you are working with.

That site was created by a dude named pH. He actually is the one who came up with the Lucas Formula. Lucas merely popularized it (Lucas fully acknowledges this btw, names pH as his mentor).

I am not a huge fan of the Lucas Formula. Certain strains cannot be pushed hard on it IMO. They develop defeciencies.

Training and a an adjusted or new nute regime. Throw us those ppms of your recipe and lets get your garden dialed in. ;)

I see what you mean regarding the lights and comparing apples to apples. I will definitely take this into consideration when mixing up the next batch.

I used to SCROG my crops when I was on OG and running a C13. I am definitely a believer in getting more out of low wattage setups this way. I think I might need to improve or increase my veg space in order to allow more plants time prior to 12/12.

I have yet to purchase a TDS meter, I am looking at the Truncheon. I also need a pH tester as well, I was considering picking up the GH liquid pH test kit in the meantime.

Really? I will look closer but I haven't seen a pest in the area for quite some time. I thought maybe it was from pH fluctuations or nute lockout.

Sweet, an OG'er. Those were the days, eh? You couldn't keep up with all of the threads at its peak. Mudder Fuckin' Mounties got some internet gold on their hands with that server.

Wasn't that great, logging in every day to check out how many new C-22, C-13, NGB cabs, NIMBY dressers, etc. were started that day. I dunno why I get so fuckin' remenicent and gurly like about it (no offense ladies, I love every damn one of ya ;) ). But those were different days on the weed sites, before the MMJ craze.

PG took on pretty good form with good farmers and a heated and loosely moderated political forum (my forte in internet communication) and then soap opera bullshit. It took me couple years to get back into the net weed scene, and find a new one to call home. This site kicks ass, but the thrill is definitely gone.

Time to share what I may know from my personal experiences to give back a bit I suppose.

The liquid stuff works okay. Okay being the operative word. You can have an idea of the range, but that is about it. You can get an all in one meter. I have used Oakton and Hanna. I actual have a Hanna that does ppm, EC, us, pH and temp. Works like a champ.
