Man I hope and think so too. I've put so much prevention in my start up to lessen problems. No light leaks and clean water with bennies 24/7. I like what the floraliciuos does for the plants but it seems like it can cause trouble to.I think it's color from the foods.
Thanks man, I guess I could do a side by side and wash one and let the other one go, and the third I could give enzymes and bennies.Sure looks like the red stain from the flora plus.
So the sight gauge actually leaks light in :\ As for the floralicious, its a bloom additive anyways. You dont really need it right now so to test, eliminate it until you switch to flower, if your problem comes back at flower, you will know why.Man I hope and think so too. Thanks Cashmeh. Even with the site tubes being Blue and Capped you believe that's where the problem is coming from? I can make a shield for them till they get put in the main system. The Floralicious Plus is stated for veg and there is another one for bloom. Do you believe I can eliminate the Floralicious Plus, and should I replace it or just go without. I've had problems with it before and have eliminated it. But for some reason I keep thinking that I need it. I do like the kelp and things that are in it but believe this is where the problem is coming from. I'm just stumbling around in the dark trying to pick up crumbs. Thanks for all your help, it's much appreciated. So the sight gauge actually leaks light in :\ As for the floralicious, its a bloom additive anyways. Yea I noticed light leaks with my tubes. I also didn't realize there were so many additives for flora trio series. I'm assuming ur using micro bloom and grow. Yet your wanting that kelp pgr growth from your additive. I'd say it's not as important during veg as it is bloom, but sure it will help your growth. So if you can run it without the chunks I would, but I'd eliminate it first to see if it gets rid of the chunks. Thanks Cashmeh. Yes, the normal Flora trio with, Amor, Mic, Gro, Blom, Cal, Rapidstart as the base. Then Diamond and Floralicious, as additives, and Koolbloom in flower. I usually introduce the two additives together and that's when I have issues. I've also been told that the Floralicious doesn't cause problems but WILL feed a problem with it's sugars and carbs. IDK. For now I'll mix new solution without the Floralicious, but I'll keep the Diamond. I've always been suspicious of the Floralic cause of how dark it is. My theory is if you can't see through it don't use it in RDWC. I just keep thinking that with no light leaks and proper bennies it could work. But fine!! I'll drop it now. Thanks for letting me vent. You know how hard it is to talk about this shit with anyone. ThanksYea I noticed light leaks with my tubes. I also didn't realize there were so many additives for flora trio series. I use massive bloom additive on top of my flora trio during flower and I get no chunks. It uses beeswax pgr instead of kelp.. Perhaps less chunky? Idk.. But yea tough call for now for ya.
Id at least isolate the problem so you know.
Thanks man and I understand ya too. I'm using RO so silica and cal/mag for sure. Then the trio for veg, then I do the Lucas Formula for flower with Koolbloom. The others are just the rapid for the roots and the Diamond for the humic and fulvic acid. I'm trying to simplify things but those nutrients guy's sure can polish a turd. Thank for your input DB.FYI, all those additives, are kinda unnecessary. We ran 3 part on its own for over a decade with excellent results. But they are alluring.. they just don't do a whole lot more than what you can get with just the base nutes for a fraction of your nutrient bill. Quite often they can even make things worse.
Hey man I just try and look out for folks here. I've made a ton of mistakes over the years and tried to learn from them, and pass on those lessons. This was one of them early on.Thanks man and I understand ya too. I'm using RO so silica and cal/mag for sure. Then the trio for veg, then I do the Lucas Formula for flower with Koolbloom. DB your a wealth of info and I appreciate that. I'm sliding into retirement very soon and everyone has moved on. I find myself being able to do things just for myself finally. I just like some gourmet bud. It's not readily available without a hassle for me. So this is my hobby. Over a year and half and 6 grows in my diy RDWC. No real pressure. Not trying to impress anyone but me, and hell I'm easily amused! lol Just trying to find my way through the BS and get to just the facts please. I stick with GH because it's simple and straight forward, imo. At least their labels doesn't look like Andy Warhol and Black Cat fireworks had a love child. LOL, just the facts, and I understand that things change, situation are different everywhere. What works for one may need some tweaking over here. But hey, I lost the Floralicious today, again. Now maybe I'll trim off some more. I could keep them in bubble buckets and do a side by side comparison, but these are from seeds not clones. Anyway Thanks man! I think losing this will help a lot.Hey man I just try and look out for folks here. I've made a ton of mistakes over the years and tried to learn from them, and pass on those lessons. Personally I wouldn't use any organics in a water based system like dwc or rockwool. Adding carbs and extra stuff is just asking for trouble imho. Humic and fulvic is just pointless when using chelated nutrients in a hydroponic system.
Also, GH brand rapid rooters come impregnated with rapid start, it's why they're so pricey. Rinsing them out only to replace it with more rapid start is just chasing your tail. Rapid start isn't cheap stuff.
Hey Dirtbag, sorry to bother you. Last time we talked was on Saturday. So I have the root rot still going on. I've been rinsing with 2X the hydroguard, messaging the root and getting them clean.Hey man I just try and look out for folks here. I hear ya Cashmeh. Yes I'm rinsing the shit out of them everyday. lol Cleaning them thoroughly! Each one gets her own special Spa Treatment. They get 4ml Hydroguard and 2ml Cal/mag pre gal of RO water. PH to 5.95+/-. The Rapidrooter that your seeing is from General Hydro and is meant be to be used in hydro as a starter plug, just like rockwool. Their net pot bottoms get cleaned and fluffed!! They fit perfectly in a 1/2 gal pitcher, where I can pour over them till they float. I've also bubbled them too! They get 10 mins of this action, then it's root cleaning time. After a good fluffing and losing a few roots it's rinsed once more before it goes back it the pot. They go in clean and shiny and come back out looking like shit. What kind of water are you starting with and what are you rinsing them with? I ask due to the chlorine in the water will kill the hydroguard.
Those plugs are the only thing I can think would cause this issue if your not using chlorinated water. Idk what was in them but they are not meant for hydro, at least not in the same aspect as rockwool is.
When I see those plugs I think organic pathogens like those that are in dirt. It also could be suffocating your root mass if too wet, like what happens in soil.
So also it looks to be getting better when comparing pics. Once you clean them they look good lol.. Instead of bad after cleaning them.
I would say you still have a fair amount of pythium trapped in your netpot. I'm sure the bottom is slimy and hard to get clean. Just keep slashing the water with hydroguard up to the bottom of the netpot while trying not to break the roots it won't matter if you do though, hydro bounces back quick. Basically ur not gonna kill it by aggressively cleaning the bottom of that pot. The hydroguard needs to be up in there and since you don't have a pump top feeding them hydroguard.. You need to manually work it in. Like your almost there.. Id work it until none of that netpot you can touch is slimy.. If your finger feels slime through the netpot.. U didn't splash it enough.. Once your done and you know it's not slimy anywhere.. That u did your best.. Dump it all.. Make new batch double hydroguard no extra additives.. Flora trio only.. Or your ab part in the right order.
Basically your system is almost fixed.
