Yep. I'm so dumb. And so young. IQ quiz challenge?

"To each their own" definitely works until someone wants to be in someone else's business or place their moral code onto another. You don't answer for me. I don't answer for you.

Yep! It comes with restrictions! You’re sitting there watching TV at 10 o’clock at night and a couple of bucks kick your door in kill your dog beat the hell out of you! Ransack your place and walk out of there with 40 bucks worth! And on their way out They stomp Your head, look down and laugh, and say, to each their own baby! And then the cops come to the crime scene and discover all these unregistered guns, so you can kiss them goodbye also! And have a court date when you get out of the hospital! I know I know I’m wasting my breath!

I know I’m a hypocrite! I break a few laws as far as pot growing goes! But I’ve learned the hard way to tow the line on everything else! This Chump has walked the straight and narrow for the last 20 years! It’s less stressful!

Yeah, but I'll deal with my sentence, not you. That's where "to each their own" can be applied.

So, because of YOUR experiences, you have the opinion that we should all just comply. Isn't in my nature to comply unless someone has proven why I should comply is valid. Doesn't need to make sense to YOU. You won't be answering for anything I do.

Glad you passed. I can't even imagine submitting my grow plans or waiting to see if I'm compliant and will pass an inspection. I wouldn't want any of those individuals knowing my business. Same reason I would never get a medical card and give up my right to carry (if you even register 😁) Absolutely not.

What state are you in? Seems like insanity to me.

Again, very happy you passed.
Nope lol it’s why I’ve always grown indoors, none of that inspection shit here but i did one outdoors this year, my neighbor does 6 monsters every year I’ve always just preferred indoors I did a single outside this year and it went well

Gunna get 2 in outdoors next spring and see what I can do lol

I'm in good Ole California.

I've always been a little envious of "legal" states. I'm not any longer and it isn't because I'm now legal. I had no idea this was even a thing. I should've guessed it was though. Anytime they can tax you or make you purchase a permit, they will.

I admire your grows. I'm sure you'll do just fine outdoors. You've got a lot of knowledge of the plant, even temperament, & a vast knowledge of soil health and all that outdoor growing encompasses. Laying the soil now for next year is actually brilliant. Gives all the microbes time to get situated in there. Excited to watch you collect pounds off of your outdoor grow next year. No less. You've got this.

I'm moving indoors most likely. I need a little more control over my growing environment. I don't like wasting my time and energy. I have learned a lot though. Tons more to learn.

Just wanted to share that I'm in CA too and our city has a prohibition on outdoor growing. Well, actually it's a little weirder than that. You can grow in a greenhouse if the greenhouse can be secured. So I wound up setting my metal shed up as a "grow room" but even with foam insulation over the roof it's too hot to use from May-November.

I grow in bags and pots and I lock them up in the shed at night to protect from the elements and since I'm close to harvest, protection from assholes who steal plants. They don't inspect gardens here and you certainly don't have to notify them you're growing, so the only way it's probably an issue is when a neighbor complains about the smell.

If they were to stop by unannounced, I can easily point to my grow shed that has a padlock and probably get by with saying I have them out temporarily while I'm sweeping or something.

Where I’m at in Cali no outdoor growing period. And it says in black-and-white, greenhouses are considered outdoors! L O L! Just depends on where you live! But it would be nice to have the option of making it legal! And smell seems to be the big sticking point! Stinky stuff! And to a lesser extent may be attracting crime!

I get a yearly inspection. Inspections begin in late Spring and continue through the year until everyone’s been checked. They used to be more hard ass, would just show up at your house one day and didn’t even allow you to get into compliance if you failed - they just fined you. Now you have 45 days to remedied the situation which makes it less stressful.

It’s done by the Vegetation Management Unit (VMU) because we’re in a VHFHSZ. Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, and the inspectors are the fire department. It’s been legal to grow weed in the State since 1996, so no one gives a hoot about the weed. 😄

Surprisingly it gives me a discount on my home insurance. 🤷🏼‍♂️

You did right, Philly! If I could just register and become legal, I would do it in a heartbeat! Back in the day, I had cops, turning my place, upside down on, unrelated matters! Calling in all my guns! Luckily, they weren’t stolen! This was before they even had to be registered! If you’re a law, Abiding Citizen. There’s no reason to not have them registered! Then throw an illegal grow on top of it! Fines, confiscations, and restrictions, can add up to a pretty penny! And years of watching other people, shoot guns! You did, right, Philly! IMO! He’s in Cali! I guess I got tired of shooting myself in the foot! Making life hard for myself!
Not all states require gun registration.

I can’t find anything about garden registration.

Always best in my opinion to try and get along. Usually the guy doing that type of inspection for compliance doesn't like to be a dick. Just needs a job and trying to do his job to keep the entity off his ass and get past you with the least amount of friction.
Compared to how it was trying to grow when it was illegal, this is no sweat. Sucks, but whatever.

My Laugh of the day. Former Contractor/Head of Family with Real-estate. Frequent Building Dept Goer, Etc. Some Dudes & 1 women missed that memo.

I could use a discount on my home insurance! I don’t know if it’s been legal to grow in the state since 96! I know it’s been legal to possess and use since 96! Maybe it’s legal to grow indoors everywhere. But I know it’s not legal to grow outdoors everywhere in Calley!

The mere sight of a pot leaf gives some white women a burning feeling inside.

It sounds more like a zoning permit.
Do you need to submit a new one every year or only if the location of your garden changes?

If the cover would of been an issue, saying that a storm or wind just damaged it and you have to replace it I'm sure would of been a suitable answer.
More then likely if you weren't compliant for any reason at all, they would just give you like 10-14 days to correct the issues.

Do they allow indoor growing?
Do they require the same license/permit and inspections for indoor grows?

If they don't have the same requirements for indoor grows, then they really only care about the "public image" of it.

I live in Ohio. I built a 7 foot tall enclosure attached to my pole barn. I overachieved a bit, even with topping and LST. Of course I went for broke and grew some Moby Dick just to see what I could accomplish. Next year I will grow some plants that are a little more squat. If smell ever becomes a concern, you can select plants that are less dank. I say grow what you like. But the thieves in my old neighborhood are running around looking like dogs sniffing out a female in heat. Even those with complete cover are getting their crops snatched. I live in the country in the middle of 20 acres. But I still grow in containers and I brought them in to finish the last couple of weeks as a precaution.

Well “legal” might not be the right word. Technically we were just “exempt” from criming.

And there seems to be a big difference between medical and recreational! And indoor and outdoor! But it seems a local governments, set all the rules for growing! All I know is that it’s illegal to grow outdoors in Tehama County!
