Junk's Growing Log

Once upon a time everyone I knew smoked weed. Now days there's only a few in my tight little circle. I honestly don't even think the amount of them could make a circle. lol

First, the taste and smell are incredible. Kind of a milky pine that tingles the tongue on the exhale.

The high is a fast hitting marshmallow head with a Sativa's long legs. Definitely a morning-afternoon, wanna get sh*t done, cup 'o coffee... with a feel good bump, buzzzzz.

My guess is it's around 18%-19% THC with some THCv and CBD in the mix. Does have a slight pain relieving effect.

Must be smooth after that long cure. Sounds like great weed to get shit done at my worksite! Anything to strong and I start to want to do other things like hang out in the shade and yell at my workers to hurry up.

Yeah, very. The smoke is smooth and milky, very little cough. It absolutely stinks. I smoked in my 5th wheel then went to water the plants. When I walked back through the door 45min later it was like a slap in the face.

For the first 10min you think it's bunk, but it's not true creeper. It feels very comfortable so you'll possibly miss that you're baked at first. Good stuff, I definitely don't feel like sitting down.

I think I'm the only one that doesn't like to get hit in the face anymore. I said it before and I'll say it again, I don't think there's anyone on the planet that smokes that's more of a lightweight than me. I literally just take one, half mini hit, blow it out right away and I'm high enough for half a day. One full hit held in to long knocks me out and I regret it. And oddly, I used to smoke damn near 1/8 oz. blunts all day everyday for years and loved it. I never thought I would ever quit smoking weed. Then my adult career happened and I stopped smoking for almost 15-20 years. I just started dabbling in it again recently because I've been out on injury for almost a year now. Man, things have changed since I've been out the game. I still absolutely love everything about it, I just have a hard time handling it. Needless to say I'm running out of time to build my tolerance back up. I'm almost cleared to return to work so smoking goes back on the back burner until retirement. Good news though I'm going to continue growing the best MJ possible for friends and family. In 8 years when I retire I plan to be a hippy pothead smoking and growing all day everyday. Most likely getting hit in the face again.....lol

Grow Log 05/07/19 (veg-lings)

Looks like it was Broad Mites. The pyrethrin worked and she's beginning to grow out normal again. Those damaged leaves will never fully recover, as is the nature of phytotoxin poisoning, but the edge curl is almost gone. Great sign of recovery.

Check this out...

This guy is using pure water for pest control. Super low pH of 2.5 to kill the bugs then follows within 5min with 11.5pH to kill fungus (or whatever he has it set at, that's what the machine can do). It's $350-$500(US) for an entry level ionizer to do this. Friggin crazy, but dude has 80 acres of plants on a pro-farm so he must know what he's doing. A water ionizer will be my next big purchase. I don't want to have to use pesticides anymore...

This dude is a straight up master, I learned a lot just from this short video.

Finishing my deck and putting in the section that'll hold most of my indoor grow.

Getting the footings a little tighter here to handle the weight better. This has not been easy. Like I've said before, this area is loam on top of red clay, on top of decomposing granite and limestone.

Had to make the hole 3x bigger than needed to pry out the bigger rocks. Luckily, I didn't run into any "tractor needed" rocks.

As the granite breaks down the clay squishes into the cracks and acts as a lubricant between the pieces that break a away. They slide against each other until they catch in protrusions and grooves. They pack together lile that, stones locked on top of more locked stones. Makes it impossible to dig with a shovel when dry amd a lot of work when wet. Took me 45min to dig this hole. Every stick into the dirt smacked into granite and limestone. Often a large rock will have been shattered then the clay slips into the cracks and causes a suction effect. I think I'm finally loosening a big rock, and just a little piececomes off. Here are some examples. This was all one rock shattered a clay glued back together.

The hole, 90% rocks with just enough clay to call it dirt. We have a lot of big gravel companies up here harvesting the gravel from our river beds where the clay washed out of the rocks.

Heres what's under, what looks like... dirt.

Had to move the solar genny inside to run the trailer. Meed to buy longer lengths of cable to reach the third battery and the inverter. The trailer is running great on just the two batteries. Played the radio and ran the lights last night and the voltage barely dropped at all (the fridge and water heater control boards were running too).

Damn, lol. I can definitely see how bad that job sucks. What a nightmare. I commend you on the determination to get it done though.

And I made a choice many years ago that I'm not messing with my career. My love for smoking weed can wait. It's not worth it for me to gamble with that.

Thanks

Right after I took the pic I rolled my ankle on this rock sticking up. Doesn't seem all that bad but my ankles are fused and I have RSDS so it hurt like a b*tch.

The driver I ordered arrived but I might need to buy a different one to get the full potential from this light. Read the label and it says 96w at 200v+, 70w at 100v-200v. Ill keep it and use it anyway but I'll order a 120w as well. Can never have enough grow light parts. Maybe it'll work on a quantum and I can just buy a board.

Also ordered a PWM controller but don't know if it'll work for what I need so I ordered a different one just in case.

There were several jobs I quit smoking pot for, when I drove a company truck doing collections from and repairing gas station air & water pumps, a union retail sales clerks job (I was 15, making $9-$27hr when all the other kids my age were making $3hr), and when I was in the Air Force. I never had an issue with putting it down for years at a time. I don't need it, I just like it. Nowadays I have no reason not to. It helps me not be bored and even motivates me, like today, building the deck. I was burning nearly the whole time.

Yup. It's not just about me anymore. I'm a single Dad of two. I'll be retiring the year they graduate high school. Perfect timing.

I bet you'll like retirement *as long as you're still single*. I'm enjoying it only being about me, somewhat. I expanded my grow so I can get something put away for my kid (21yrs old), but at this point I'm mostly doing it to dial in my home so I can finally relax.
