If you have to ask don't do itCan I strip my cannabis with 91% isopropyl alcohol. Put it in.
My Baker, add water to still off the alcohol and get the oioil.
I'm talking about washing the Bud. Getting the Try cones off, put it into my. Flaskadd water. Distill off the alcohol?I'm not sure I follow your question, but just in case you're talking about infusing isopropyl alcohol...it's poisonous. Don't drink it.
Never mind.I'm talking about washing the Bud. Getting the Try cones off, put it into my. Flaskadd water. Distill off the alcohol?
And the oil should sit on top of the water. Can they collect the oil? Or should I just steam Distill. it?
Lol it's cool Just trying to find a good way to get some good gold oil.Never mind.
Well, I already steamed distilled. Turned out real good, but I was reading that alcohol. If you have to ask don't do it
Like I said you don't know enough about chemistry to be safe. Don't do it, some types of alcohol makes you go instantly blind.Well, I already steamed distilled. Turned out real good, but I was reading that alcohol.
Gets more turpings and stuff off
Okay, I'll just use Everclear.Like I said you don't know enough about chemistry to be safe. Don't do it, some types of alcohol makes you go instantly blind.
Seems like it could be a good way to go since it is drinkable. Thanks for the inputOkay, I'll just use Everclear.
My buddy uses everclear that's the way to go, for sureSeems like it could be a good way to go since it is drinkable. Thanks for the input
Thank you for the in put What do you think is better? The alcohol method or steam distilling it.We make tinctures, but it might be similar to what you're doing. My take on it is it's a matter of how much it's reduced. That is, the alcohol will evaporate until it's removed from heat. We use different methods for making our tinctures and my wife does most of the cooking. We do use a beaker for one of our methods. We put the solution (ground bud infused with Everclear and strained through cheesecloth and coffee filters) in the beaker and then put the beaker in a crock pot with water in it. I think we keep the water temperature at about 180º F or just below the boiling point of alcohol. We start with 6 ounces of solution and reduce it down to 2 ounces.
Thank you. That's some good Information.I've been experimenting with QWET process...
I use PGS 95 %... I'm working on a vacuum recovery for the ethanol in my spare time...got most of it together.. will do a thread when done.
For now you can.. fill a dish... set on seedling heat mat.. about 12 hours later most ethanol has evaporated and reduced to tincture... a little more time on the mat.. use a razor to scrape off dish.. or credit card... minuscule amount of ethanol left... if any.
Times on mat will vary to wattage and container size / dim. For me this a no fuss or mess way.. with no flames or high heat worries...

First time QWET can you take a look at the process?
What’s up guys. So I got into making bubble hash and pressing into rosin. I guess there’s advantages and disadvantages to both but the molecular biologist in me makes me like to play with things. (Good ol days of using chloroform and different strength etoh to extract RNA) So I don’t right a...www.thcfarmer.com QWET with 190 Everclear five wordz
I’ve successfully made some butter that I added to some cookies. I’m going to try QWET with 190 proof Ever Clear. 14 gr of decarbed weed. I’ve got a pint of 190 Everclear in the freezer, weed is also in the freezer, different jar. Gonna let them cool for 12/24 hours. Shake up,,, filter, evap...www.thcfarmer.com CannaGranny’s Corner a Thread for General BS and Good Will
I like making good tinctures. Do you decarb it or are you going for something different? I usually decarb, do a quick freeze (in the alcohol), then double boiler, reduce/evaporate..... A good squirt goes nice in an IPA, that green float on top......but it's great in a cup of hot tea too. I've...www.thcfarmer.com
I don't understand. Do you want to know the difference between reduction and distillation? Alcohol and water are both solvents and can be distilled or reduced. The difference between the two methods is recovery of the vapor. With reduction, the solvent vaporizes into the atmosphere. With distillation, the solvent is recovered. As @SnappyJack mentioned, the viscosity (thickness) of what's left after either reduction or distillation is determined by how long the solution is on the heat. Oil is thicker than tincture because more of the solvent is vaporized. What do you think is better? The alcohol method or steam distilling it.
