dude this fire was gnarly! fishwhistle I hope your property is ok cause I watched swall meadows burn! I think like 30-40 homes went down and 7500 acres were burnt... and rovana was fine thanks to the 100 mph winds coming down the canyon. It was very scary night and no sleep... Fucked up part is when we evacuated our house I thought about grabing everything in my grow room... till my girlfriend was like lets get the dogs our baby and our pictures.... hahahha I will post some pics that I took... Canman that shot u posted was jim stimsons photo shot from the gorge road across 395 at about 8pm when the fire was at its peak.... Thank god it rained and put this out...... This was not the only fire last night... there was fire in lee vinining bridgeport

Grab our baby instead lol! Hope your safe bro fire is one of the scariest things on the planet!

It was last night and ya it was super sureal. Such a fast destroyer of nature... also amazing how attached we are to our material things, yet when it comes to the moment of deciding to evacuate you don't give a shit for anything other than your family's life, your animals, and your own life.

We are glad you are ok, maui. My girlfriend used to live down the street from Jim. Good eye. Best of luck.

Yep. There was a super wind event in the Eastern Sierra that stoked this fire just south of Tom's place. About 17 miles south of Mammoth Mountain. My old digs for the last decade. Trout for days in the area. Shot from Millpond.

My nephew told me my property burned maui, since it had no structures they just let it rip through and stayed on structure protection and im 100% ok with that.I feel so bad for some of the other people around my place for losing their homes, many of them million dollar plus in pinon ranch.Im so bummed as that area is so important to the deer around there and people dont realize how old some of the junipers are in that area.I have always thought if a fire stated it would rip straight uphill there and we were planning on building in a way to prepare for that just in case.Cant beleive that lee vining and bridgeport got hit too,CRAZY shit,i knew something happened when i saw the boats at silver tossed around like matchsticks but you know how it is there it can be blowing 70 there and you drive into june and its calm.I want to drive up but im so busy this time of year its gonna be awhile.
Sorry for the thread jack CM,you would love this area, very similar to where you live.
