So I have a clear tubberware tote with about 500 lady bugs in it..I had bought them to take care of a thrip problem..WOW! they killed the population in a matter of a week!

Now I have about a hundred left in the grow room and are dying off. which is fine..BUT the remainder in the tote I want to breed...

I put a eggshell crate for them to lay larvae on..Have a sponge I wet every 3 days and have put a small dish of karo syrup for food.....

I see it slowly disappearing so I know they are eating but I want something with more nutrients and protein..

I see they sell a secret powder to mix with honey to feed them but i dont want to spend 20 on something I KNOW I probably have in the kitchen..

Anyone know what will sustain a breeding colony?

honey is a more complete nutrient than corn syrup, but thats just a guess. try calling the company you got them from
