OK, I am still working on it and the Uniseals suck. I had to abandon the idea of unileakers.

Crickets chirping.......so I went ahead and built the system and no leaks. All working fine. System basically emulates all the physical specs of current culture type etc. without costing $2 to 4 f'ing thousand dollars and one left nut and an arm.

Have an 8 site system. Water temps under control with the chiller. Followed all the recommended setup including the 1 liter of air per gallon per minute as well as the reservoir water fall return from the chiller.....

Water conditions stable so far and after the first day the ph started to settle in.

Just wanted to follow up and say the plants have recovered nicely and thanks to everyone who offered help.

My UC system is purring along and very easy to manage now, things seem super stable. I finally figured the problem was a combination of environmental issues but it seems some Trifecta I used at full strength dilution burned the plants. It works well on this strain at 1/2 dilution (1oz/gal not 2oz/gal). I will never again use a full dilution on this strain.

Its funny the medicine I get from the plant has a heavy indica feel and effect (like a good Kush) but the plants grow big with some of the bushyness of indica but tall and with fan leaves that are sometimes bigger than an adults hand and sometimes approaching chest size. They often produce those big leaves with 9 fingers or more. This is about my fourth run of this hybrid. Don't know if I mentioned it before but it is a Cheese Quake F2 hybrid (Cheese X Urkle X Space Queen) I made and selected from the group for productivity. I am still sorting and checking the genetics but i have 2 or 3 plants that are indicating (strongly) the characteristics I am looking for. Several others show signs but I am not sure how they will do yet. Two runs ago I saw his one plant outproduce all the others by about 5X so I have been searching for that pheno ever since. Clones from that run failed (figured out why) so I didn't preserve that one successfully. This time I waited to get more and better clones and I think I may have captured it this time. I have 400 plus seeds set aside in the fridge so plenty of material to study over time and preserve the genetics for future grows.

My F2 seeds which should have shown a really broad distribution (from what I have been told) actually came out quite the opposite and produced a lot of plants with the characteristics I was looking for and I don't know how it happened but they almost all come up female. Dumb, beginners luck I guess.

I currently am new to a CCUC system and have a 6 bucket 8 gal system . I'm looking at duplicating it for another tent. I have everything but decided to try to find the bulkhead they use instead of uniseals. Have you found any of those?

I believe the fittings CC uses are proprietary design and not available. They don't even sell them as replacements. They do this to prevent you from doing a DIY system I am pretty sure :( .

I have an update though: If you use the aquarium bulkheads use 2 seals. This is because to use these as a hydro bulkhead you have to put them together reverse of their intended design. If you don't you cant disassemble the system for cleaning, maintenance or moving the system. In aquarium culture the portion of the BH fitting that has the outside threads goes on the dry side and the flange side and seal on the wet side. In hydro it is reversed so you need a second seal on the wet side I made some seals out of silicone gasket sheet by simply cutting them out with scissors after tracing the correct inside and outside diameter on the sheet of material using a sharpie. costs about $12 for the gasket material at Ace hardware. Also, I used pure silicone high vacuum grease to help the seals seat better and prevent the seal on the wet (nut) side from wadding up when torque is applied to the nut. Works great and is food grade silicone so it wont hurt your plants etc.

BH fittings: Amazon, Buy the "CPR" Aquariums brand only, other brands suck and tend to leak when used in hydro applications. 4 packs cost about $25.

PS, I also have an 8 bucket prototype that uses ABS conduit bulkheads and although I thought those would be more prone to leaks the prototype is still running leak free growing food crops for my family in another grow room. It also requires 2 gaskets (inside and out) and I use common toilet gaskets which a cheap along with the high vac grease as well. It is somewhat cheaper to set up than the aquarium fittings but in the end I prefer the aquarium ones.

I haven't had a need for those in any of my designs thus far so to be honest all I can do is look at your system and add input from observation. However, I have been seeing a lot of positive gardens using CC and drippers. Bulkheads no, haven't needed them. MANARDS MAYBE.

Just curious how you connect all the under current pipe to the buckets? I am not understanding what you mean but am certainly curious.....

Hosing...it allows the system more flexibility and customization in the space. NO ALGAE!! I'm currently moving away from the bucket systems to more flat type systems because I have recently learned that plants prefer horizontal growth over circling which occurs in bucket type systems. They get to branch and spread which let's them thin out and grow instead of bunching which helps promote rot.

Looks like you got it and it's doing really good
Roots look healthy. Now my pet peeve is the rigidity of of the PVC as I said before. It's a personal preference, but I found it useful to be able to fit the system into any space.

I like the idea of flexible hoses, just had not seen it done. It would also have the benefit of not putting any stress on the fittings if the buckets aren't lined up perfect. The part I don't understand is the reference you made to a system with a different shape (I think you said "flatter"). Can you describe this in more detail or add a reference picture?

Plants are well on their way into flower now, growing quite fast. Roots and main trunks are still getting bigger than ever. LED COBs power went to max today (750 true watts). I feel like I am on the hairy edge of having the nutes too strong (slight yellowing of tips). Also, the plants are not as deep a green as I would like but I am a little reluctant to add N while into flower.

I did find that you can purchase the current culture bulkhead, a little stiff in price, but no worries! Thank you
