Decided to build a custom f&d system using 4” sewer and drain pipe, and black (gas) pipe for the table. Recycled a few parts from previous diy hydro systems.

Im now starting week 3 flower and have been experiencing droopy leaves for nearly two weeks.

I’ve attempted to alter room temps, humidity, flood cycles, EC, and light distance/intensity.

The organically grown plants in the same room under hids are not showing the same symptoms, which makes me suspect that environment is not the issue but rather, EC or flood cycles could be responsible. Ph is within the acceptable range for hydroponics @5.9-6.1 between 2 separate bluelab probes.

I normally grow rdwc and do not have this problem so as of right now I suspect a lack of oxygen at the root zone, however, if you look at the root pics, they’re white and healthy.. Completely dumbfounded, growing since 2007 and never had this issue.
Any insight is appreciated as I’m currently balding and I feel this crop is speeding the process 😂

Agree on "transportation!" 😃Its 36 the RH? Led like more wet!
Nice piece of dehumidifier! Can i ask you some specs? like model, water absorbtion, how much power it pulls...etc...
Beautiful setup too!

Thanks for the reply, the RH on the trolmaster was significantly higher, barely visible but it’s on the illumated blue screen beside the doser. The cheapo depot hygrometer is just for a quick temp reference, not very accurate unfortunately

The dehumidifier is a Quest 105, it’s supposed to pull 105 pints/day @80 degrees, draws 4 amps @120v. Great little unit, it’s been rocking for 3 years now, very efficient.

I figured out my mistake.. I’m normally a rdwc guy so not used to running anywhere near 2. Was being a bit stingy with the food. Bumped up to 1.7 and voilà

Tried adjusting literally everything, room temp, humidity, airflow, different flood cycles , Ph, then finally EC. Plants began looking better within 12 hours and progressively so for the next few days. Praying at last!

What I learned, drain to waste feeding strength is more appropriate for ebb and flow than recirculating strength. Definitely lost a bit of growth to that slip, looking forward to doing better next round

I can’t believe how much I was under feeding.. Dropped the ball big time weeks 1-2, the stretch!..

EC, was .7 end of week 2, plants looked unhappy, which in turn made me eat 🍕 , symbiosis?

been slowly ramping the EC up since, today is day #24, flood started @2.1 and returned @2.0, approximately 75 gallons actual
in a 100g recycled trough.

Increasing to 2.2 now

organics are looking ok, not great. They’re in ffof (15g), amended with pridelands bloom (@1c) and boost (1tbs) basically, 1/2 and 1/3 strength, recharge for the bios, and worm castings for love, couldn’t get coast of Maine lobster c, it was sold out😔. Love that stuff, too expensive but 👍.

Looking forward to getting the soil ladies on the right path, just got rid of my last 2 hids, lumateks from 2009! Still going strong, couldn’t kill ‘em, had 8, sold 4, all still run to this day. Replaced with roi 420s to match the 335s without getting bent over by Fluence again.

Looking forward to hitting 2gpw!

On the next crop since I screwed up 😂
