Hi all. Updating progress and issues with my DS2 plant. Been doing research and trying to eliminate asking questions if I can find answers.
Now, I thought I had things under control, but am noticing leaf curling at the very tips on higher up sets of leaves as well as the lower leaf sets. New top growth looks good.
I don't think it's a nutes issue. Perhaps under watering? Too much light? Too much fan exposure or wind burn? Disease or parasite I'm not seeing?
Been checking plants daily and going over with a magnifying lens and only saw a few fungus gnats on sticky traps, no thrips or evidence of mildew or mold.
The Dark Soul DS1 plant (not pictured) is doing excellently, so the conditions for that one are good, but something is off here for this DS2 plant.
I did see a few fungus gnats and sprayed a light coco surface dampening with mosquito bit water and avoided the leaves.
The VPD is about 1 right now. These are young vegetative state plants, so the VPD is probably still a bit high, but it's not bothering the DS1 (same age sibling) or BP2 (Black Phoenix) which is about two weeks behind the DS1 and DS2 plants. I don't want to raise the humidity much and create other issues.
Just trying to figure out what I am missing here.
Thanks for any insight.
Steve

Dark Soul DS1 sibling looks very good at this stage of growth. Comparison to it's sibling in my post, is all.

What are you feeding it and how much and how often?

What is the light settings? Height and wattage?

Whats the humidity in your tent?

Humidity fluctuates between 55 and 60 rh. Temp fluctuates between 68 and 70.
Light is at about 3 feet above top of plant. Two LED grow lights rated at 42 watts. Cheapo Master garden branded strip grow light set on "Full spectrum" Haven't gotten a higher end light yet.
Food, when I transplanted to 5 gallon pots, I used about 3 tbsp per gallon of coco using Gaia Green 4-4-4 with a bit of perlite.
Plant seeds popped 9/6/24, so I figured, as transplant was at about a month old from germination, food isn't needed quite yet.
I understand that each plant could have differences in nutrient needs.
for this particular DS2 plant, is this more likely from the VPD being off?

I’m not a VPD’er : ) the slight curl to edge of the leaf could just be strain (your lights dont seem to much or too close) the temps dont seem to bad, I shoot for warmer in veg 78-82 and those lower temps you have are what im shooting for later in flower. (I dont think thats going to give you the leaf tip burn) I still think that is just nutrients, and not in a bad way. If you check out some of the guys that run their plants “full throttle” you’ll notice a bit of tip burn. But really I dont see anything here to get to excited about : ) youll need someone with a well trained eye and more experience than me to help you break it all down. It’s good you’re being pro active and noticing your plants! Nice job!

Thanks. It's all a new learning curve. Writing a bit of a novel here... Not amazing, but more frustrating, yet understandable, how siblings can behave so differently in the same exact conditions. I'm used to hybridizing iris that are a little more stable and consistent in growing as in strong light, good food and water and you pretty much let them go and do their thing. Where as now I am dealing with conditions based on strain genetic variation due to years of selective breeding/inbreeding, etc, etc temperature variations, climate, etc. Though I am learning, I still comprehend basic genetics enough to know that f1 and especially of a "tester" variety are going to give a wider group of phenos. There's years of breeding that go way back and any of those traits could show up regardless of dominant factors that were selectively bred for, especially if it's an "unstable" strain. I'm interested in seeing which traits, recessives or dominants, from grandparents and further back generations show up as I work on developing a specific line or strain of my own. I certainly don't plan on selling anything for many generations down the road, if then. I don't have a specific goal at this point other than to learn about cannabis cultivation. I'm in this for fun and learning and know there's a lot ahead of me before I begin to comprehend growing on a higher level. Reading can only teach so much. and here I thought, hmmm... it's a weed. Weeds just grow pretty easily (in the wild). :)

So I ran the same strain photo period un feminized seeds last run, the differences in all the plants were freaking mind blowing! I had a purple come out of one! Then I took cuttings off of those which is my current run flowering out now, my goodness they are touchy and sensitive to light and nutes! It’s cool though, it was a great learning experience for a first indoor run. Im still learning weekly, sometimes daily😂
