the last couple batches of seeds i started grow fine for about 2weeks or so then when they start to grow the bottom leaves start to brown and dye
1 batch was started in peat/perlite mix and the other
1 in miricle grow organic potting mix

i am thinking ph problem or maybe no nutes or not sure if hard water would be bad

well water
ph 7.2
tds ppm 225
hard water is about 200-300 ppm

tried water PHed @about 6 (paper strips) about 48 hour ago not sure if it helped they maybe look a little more green

should i try some food

thanks

Dose them a couple of times with pH'd water 5.8 - 6.3 then start your feeding regime again with the same pH range.

Yea try to lower your PH slightly also I dont kno which bottom leaves you are talking about but it is fairly normal for the starter sets of leaves to die and fall off eventually. Also Depending on how thick the foliage is above those leaves if they are not getting enough light they will do the same. This is why some growers choose to trim of the bottom leaves that cannot get the needed light.

I accept with information:tried water PHed @about 6 (paper strips) about 48 hour ago not sure if it helped they maybe look a little more green

Hello and Happy New year!!!!

how old are these plants? Pictures would help a lot. Soil Ph Needs to be between 6.5 and 7.0 I run mine at 6.8.. and if ya drop ya PH down below 6.4 in soil..you will seee problems..Now Hydro is 5.3-5.8..finding that a PH 5.3 uptake is way better..

the only help I can give here my friend is get that PH corrected and all will be fine. IMO..PH is everything..Hope this helps..

and get ya self a Digi meter..thoe paper strips are crap
take care and be safe

You're saying you haven't run nutrients on them at all? Starvation is the problem, not pH. They're cannibalizing themselves for nutrients from the bottom up, moving the nutes to where they're needed in the new growth. I say you need to feed, ASAP! Start with something mild like Foxfarm's Big Bloom, then work up to Grow Big, and eventually Tiger Bloom in flower. Nutrient schedules are normally free with the nutes at the grow store. STAY AWAY from those MiracleGro type nutrients, smoke that chemical shit and you'll end up with a facial twitch. Serious.

i lowered the ph to around 6 for a day or 2
then gave them ph 6 or so and about 1000ppm food

now they seen to be doing better

i fugured the cannabalisim was lack of food but when i fed them at first it didnt help so i figured it was ph

maybe with the hard water they like a lower ph

anyone no of a good cheap ph meter i had 1 but it broke

thanks ALL

yea it would help ur case if u had a camera to take pics if not i would say take the above advice of another sellout! also keep in mind it well take 2-3 days to see any improvements from the nutes. as far as the meter goes, i use 2 buy the drops, strips a couple cheaper 40$ ph meters but in the end u get what u pay for. now im a proud owner of the 24-7 digital 3 in 1(nutridip?) meter. best thing i ever bought just wish i got it sooner b4 wasting $ on the other crap!
