Hello guys,

This is my second grow and I would really like to get your input here. I read nearly every guide, diagnosis and tutorial and still not sure what is ailing my plants.

Day: 36 Veg (beginning of 6th week)

Strain: 7x Blue Gelato 41 feminized (Barneys)

Grow Lights. 2x 600w HPS (18/6 cycle) in a 1.2m x 2.4m grow tent

Distance to plant: 50cm

Humidity: 41% (low)

Medium: Soil, 12L pot

Feeding once in two days with nutrients
Nutrients: Bio Nova Soil Supermix, BN Zym, BN The Missing Link, BN X-cel, BN roots (once a month). All fed a little less than the recommended schedule.

Ventilation: slight negative pressure, two vents 8’ on intake and exhaust, 8’ inline fan (exhaust)

I’ve done some pruning this week - removed lower branches and small growth sites unexposed to light.
Tried to increase humidity but it stubbornly remains on 40-41%.

Some of the leaves, especially new growth, are distorted/wavy at the tips. One leaf is even “eaten up” though I have no pests, mites, spiders etc. (disinfected the house a few months ago)

Could this be nutrition burn or a result of low humidity? I cannot think of something else.
Do you recommend washing the plants with plain water?

Thanks a bunch!

82°f, for those who need to look.
any co2?
any heavy/any- circulatory fans?
lemme do distance conversion n look at that light intel, again.... 19 inches, ain't much, for a strong light. par? lumens?
some cell phones have meter apps for lighting. i cannot speak as to their efficacy.
foil, conducts more heat, than white-ish paint, mylar, or panda paper... leaf surface temp? strain/s? u can hang a wet towel near the intake, keep a cookie sheet of h2o... humidity is easily raised. might c what part of the world ur strains r from, climate wise.

2hps 600s... on kickass, is over 1300 watts. thems r young... I'm votin heat. wind chapping, can look similar. before i saw pics , and just paid attention to age, i imagined cmag, but having seen em neked- I'm guessing heat. seem short for your light, at that age. stress delays much and can b used as a tool. I'm digressing. sorry.

I think heat too, although its less than 28c (82.4 fahrenheit)
No co2 sir. I’m not sure what the leaf temp is, but the thermometer is close to it.
Strain is hybrid (mostly indica) blue gelato

Thanks for the advice. I will surely distance the lights 10cm more or even dim it to 400w. No need for flushing, then?

couldn't say. u CAN monitor your ppm, in soil. that's a long list, of nutes.
from the weakness of the bigger leaves, the "cigaring" (u might use in search term)... say heat, to me. i think u took the pics, under your "redshift" so it's hard to say, far as leaf colors, but it looks like u have a lighter gal, in the background... I'd b askin ph and ppm questions, eventually. the one I'm thinkin heat -for- looks alot darker green, than a background chick.
not ur first grow- just other stuff that can b added to the list of possibles, u may have forgotten...

Like the other poster said, raise the light a bit. Usually plants like 50%-60% humidity in veg. What are you pHing too? That damage could be related to pH.

and i try to flush, weekly, anyway. the body tends to allow, biweekly, more often than not. i never met a gal who minded soakin in a tub for a bit; flush never hurt anyone, but without tds/ec & ph, u might end up in hot soil, immediately after, anyway. i believe their are sets u can break in under 2wks, for around $30u.s.
they tend to b worth the cost, for quality.
a lost season, over $100, or less- is worthy of regret.

My tap water is around 7 ph and I lower it 6ph.

SPARECHANGE and Seraphine- thank you very much for your advice. I decided not to flush for now. I dimmed the lights to 400HPS and raised the reflectors by 10cm. Also sprayed the leaves with a silicone nute (hope it helps..)

Hope its okay If I’ll have to revive this thread in a few days :)

You’re awesome. Cheers.
