How far up do you guy's place your LEDs from the plants? I have some 36" away and some at 42" and the plants closer to the lights are much bushier.
Also can I get and idea of yields on LEDs Watts to grams? Is it watts from the wall pull or watts out put. If it's from the wall total watts are around 1200. And light out put 6000w.
Thanks for any input all knowledge is welcome.
I have actually moved mine down to about 2 feet and the plants are comfortable still stre hing slowly..i had them at about 2 feet and had to move them due to the plants were so tight i couldnt do anything with them lol

I could be wrong on this, it's only what I've read/heard but here we go...

Supposedly fan leaves are more critical on outdoor grows, as they are positioned all around the plant. This is important because the sun moves throughout the day, meaning some areas of the plant will receive less direct light than others at any given time. It is to my understanding that having as many fan leaves indoors is not as crucial as you can position multiple lights around the room ensuring that the plant gets light from 360 degrees. It is often recommended by some growers to remove fan leaves that are blocking lower bud sites, as artificial lighting cannot penetrate very deep into the canopy, which is not a problem with the sun. I do remove fan leaves from my indoor plants and never had issues, but this is just my personal experience. Please do your own research on this,I think you'll find some interesting views...

I have as well been removing fan leaves i need to i just tuck most of them but they can getvout of control very quickly especially when LST

Im just going by what I have read Ive never tested it but raising your lights about 2 feet in late flower while you are flushing is supposed to boost aroma and resin production.

The wattage pulled from the wall is your out put. the manufactures stated wattage is just a marketing ploy.
check this: http://www.dormgrow.com/wattage
It is hard to estimate anybody's yield, because of so many factors involved.
Not only is the wattage taken into the fact, but the distance from canopy, strain, if topping/lst involved, type of medium, nutrients and experience of grower...etc.etc...
The bench mark was about .5 grams per watt, some peeps have done the 1 gram watt... but really the most important is Quality...
IME... leds cause bushier plant, so sometimes I need to raise the lights farther than I normally would just so I can have space between internodes. hope some of this helps

Blessed with all this knowledge from everyone. I will lower them some more I want this plants as bushy as can be. I love me some bushes lol. Quality is a priority. Talking about quality anybody done a side by side runs of LED, HPS and compared the smoke quality?

Any closer than 18 inches can bleach or burn your plant with led light.

Too bushy can be a problem, not enough light will get through, too crowded. need room for buds to get big.
Youtube led vs hps///there are quite a bit comparisons.

Yes I understand. I have a SOG without net without training. I will lollipop and let the plant's focus on the top for me.bushy is perfect I love it so many tops.
I have YouTube many comparisons just wondering from.personal opinions of people and which smoke they preferred or if they can even tell a difference in quality.

Day 10 flower .
I have set my light at 28" from the tops see how that goes although I feel the stretch is a lot less with LEDs

Blue and red leds do fine. This big guy was grown under one. Platinum led p600. Super tight nodes except the top because I put it back on veg mode only to slow growth. The closest I could get the light is 24" and then it burned. Manufacturer says 24" is about 1150 umols but I haven't tested yet.

Nice looking plant

The purpling Looks like a mg deficiency.
The Grape Ape is a hungry hungry strain im Using AN coco bloom A and B plus additives. I was using their CalMag but the nitrogen levels are high 4,0,0 and the some plants gave me the claw. So i backed up a little. I was thinking of adding Epsom salt instead to cut out the nitrogen from the CalMag? Any input is welcome thanks.

I'm not convinced purple stems equate deficiency. I've seen arguments for both sides. But magnesium sulfate works well for that. I don't like cal mag for the extra nitrogen either and often it contains calcium carbonate or magnesium carbonate which isn't the best source of either one.

I use Calimagc and microblast together.

If you ask me that has to be one of the healthiest leaf i seen in a while. Yea i read that some strains have it in their genetics and since this is a purple it might be so but since i am not using CaLMag i will add 5g per gallon to my res of Epson salt. Girls are coming along great im so excited with this LEDs. Can't wait to test finish product. Cheers happy gardening everyone.

The blue/red led light makes the plants mag hungry and it shows up on the petoiles, every strain Ive grown under pink led has had purple petoiles.
