Anybody have any experience with quality, reliable LED replacements for 1000 watt DE Philips type HID lamps, like phantomDE or Gavitas. PROFESSIONALS AND MEDICAL GROWERS PLEASE CHIME IN. Something water resistant for when the room needs any kind of sprays would be beneficial, but I'm looking mostly for great plant development (performance), penetration into the canopy, and the same floor space coverage (5×5 is the spread I use)

You can probably get everything comparable but the canopy penetration out of an LED.

I used to work for Jungle Boys in L.A. among other vendors so I have an idea of what you are looking for. A lot of the newer LED offerings have coated boards meaning the diodes are coated to be water resistant. The first time I saw this was when I won a ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro.

For a 5 x 5 footprint I would go with a Mammoth Mint EVO8 or SpiderFarmer G8600. MedicGrow Smart 8 is another light I would consider.

If you want to stay with Gavita I like the Pro RS series of lights.

5x5 grow area = 25 feet of square foot of grow space or area times 30 watts minimum of quality grow lighting = 750 watt LED grow light .
