And he is? In place of neem for IPM?
If you follow good indoor grow practises neem is all you ever need.
If you fvck up and introduce pest then yes you'll need more inputs

I ordered my first seeds from Marc emery in 98 I think. I've only had thrips once from clones besides gnats. I never go from outside to inside. I'm proactive

You can actually use limonene as an emulsifier. a few drops will do.

"Another new trick I learned from Coot a couple of weeks ago is to use limonene to emulsify neem oil much like potassium silicate. A couple drops in a shot glass mixed up and it emulsifies it for spraying plus you get a contact insecticide along with the benefits of neem and karanja.

An 8oz bottle of food grade d-limonene on Amazon is $14.99 and you can also use pure orange essential oil." -Chunk

this is a short list of what i throw at them. i always add lemongrass oil anyway so the neem doesn't smell the house up man. my girlfriend will kick my ass. I just feel better using the essential oils for the extra layers of protection. Why not? It's an extra 50 cents per application.

Anyone else find the aroma of Neem to be interesting and almost intoxicating? Well! I've always had a wierd side I guess. But when we garden indoors treating infestations is much different than outdoors as we have provided a very limited facsimile of a whole environment. Spider mites are all over here in growing months but I don't have troubl3 with them as other weeds and plants are more attractive to them and predators abound. Gonna go sniff some Neem now! Rosemary oil will burn cannabis if it is too strong.

most any terpene will. d-limonene would dissolve a leaf in 72 hours. Solvent...

For a long time I was simply soaking lavender, rosemary, mint, basil, catnip, etc. In water for 48hrs, diluting and applying along with neem, aloe and Protekt.

Just started playing with EO's myself. Really like how easy they are to apply rather than mixing up neem properly. I'm going to be investing in beneficial insects soon once I get my rooms dialed in a lil more.

Rancho from LOS.ORG? From up north? If so...
Rancho, good to see you over here bro! And back sharing! I've been meaning to hit you up on GC... wanted to inquire about this...
Heard you were giving up on cover crops cause of gnats!? Wanted to touch basis on this? Honesty I couldn't see it since gnats love organic good eats which is our medium and losing the benefits from cover crop would be negative.. So obviously I wanted to hear this from you and hear your findings!

Plus I got lots more I wanted to bounce off you
Cheers

No offense at all, I've never had russet or broad. The idea behind this, is to make the plant less hospitable. The stronger your plants are the less suspeptible they are to pests and to add neem is a greater advantage. I'd say your best preventive to pest is a strong healthy plant.

I said if you need anything else your growing skills need work... russet and broad from my reading of growers cases is brought in... which translate to poor growing skills.

My bad realize I commented

It's true. No more cover crops for me. Fungus gnats don't have much to do with it. Clover in particular becomes a haven for spider mites. If you never deal with them keep using a cover crop.
Broad mites run rampant up in the hills of NorCal. Shake anyone's hand and you now have them on you. I grow in a small warehouse surrounded by other growers. What I'm getting at is if you grow on any sort of scale plant pests are inevitable. I use really nice filters and will be using UV light as precautions. Neem is the Honda Civic of IPM, if you ask me. I've never had success with it against thrips. Broad and russet mites are known to be carried in on the backs of thrips too.
