Here's my one and only surviver of magic melon, she went into a stress induced flower when I had her indoors this winter, couldn't get her back into veg so just let her flower out. I was hoping it was gonna get bigger after transplanting it but unfortunately it was too far into flower so she didn't get very big, I'll be pulling her soon.

looks good. what variety is it?
It's a new strain called Auto Elefant that SSSC - Super Sativa Seed Club will be releasing, I think it will be released later this year, I got to take part in the final product testing so I'm quite excited to see how it turns out, I'm doing one indoors as well that has been topped and LST'd fairly hard and looking very promising.

growth characteristics vary more or less through all 10 here. this one more so, its most unique from the whole bunch with a few exceptions, the nodes grow tighter, closer to the main stalk. in abundance and large, to very large. If I picked one Id most like to see a cola forming on its that one. everything about it says large. the upper stalk is thick as a quarter or more. and I like the way she grows.

hopefully Ill get to share that big fat cola later.

It looks like good fun out there, summer outdooring is awesome sauce 👍

How do you get it to look like a lil tree, cutting? But when and where, I see along the bottom,..but I'm def not doing this right! my plant looks like a monster shrub, no shape and It's already stressing out so no more hair cuts for this one!

Its more of a buzz cut, than a top cut. Just strip the bottom one third. Your energy goes to the tops, and helps keep popcorn nugs at a minimum

I think it is just your strain not your way of growing 😀
I have only taken a few of the older bigger fan leaves, nothing else, idea with this one is touching it as little as possible until the end.

the pictures I ran out of patience waiting on yesterday.

..of the same thicky thick girl. safe to call her 4.5 foot tall. height is irrelevant. I REALLY like this girl, almost as much as repeating sh!t over a couple times 🤔😬

stay tuned. next follow ups might be more fun 😉

Looking beautiful! Do you do LST or any topping of your plants or do you like them to grow naturally? They look amazing!

In general:
Maximum oxygen to the root zone, coco, perlite, large surface area like fabric bag helps.
Keep soil between 70-80 during it's high metabolic life (seedling, veg, flip (in our case pistils, stretching, praying around this time USA).
When you have fluffy soil and high temps you can drip feed more often to oxygenate and swamp cool your medium.

Top later or don't top of you want a "tree" but not topping outdoors witch such a long period means you will lose potential yield if u cared.
Plant where you get the most sun, use a compass and face south, or move to vegas.

Organics:
Dont just make a super soil sorry if this is flaming but that is guerilla growing if you have time and access use a good dry nute like dr earth that isnt not full of poop n shit and top feed as needed as the roots can only break down whatever it touches you dont need poop rotting and collecting water and bad bacteria in your medium.

Cheat with synthetic foliar or low ppm synthetic as weed will and can eat faster than organic.
Other methods:
plant early use a greenhouse or cover if you have to.
Use natural immune strengtheners, steroids
(literally a natural roid like Brass) and PGRs if you know what you're doing.
If not just make Alfalfa meal and Kelp extract tea every 2 weeks to foliar (filter that shit) or drench SEPERATEY preffered as the IAA in kelp is not synergestic with Tria as far as I read but then again the IAA in kelp extracts are probably negligible.
I use straight up sourced shit so I can't tell you from experience.

Thanks. I never ever top to answer that question.

I'm progressively running more rope throughout the boxes for added support and lst. Will update how it went later.

I haven't started my annual weekly fertilizer regiment thus far. I've been solely relying on amendments in week one to bring them to this point. so far so good it seems. I feel there just about ready to start weekly bottle feeding. But first a generous 1/3 ratio of worm castings and black earth top dressing. a 40 litre bag of castings total. doing things in this order became a staple. As I introduce a concoction consisting of cal max- silica blast - progrow and probloom - liquid karma. It should start to get interesting in about a couple weeks.

I thought I noticed preflowers on more than a couple ;s. This is the only part I don't particularly enjoy when growing seedlings. I want to lst the heck out of them, but cant for that obvious reason.

My second outdoor grow here in Michigan. Started them inside last week in March. Put them in the ground the last week in May.
Deep hole, put powdered eggs shells in, Dried Chicken Manure, Kelp. I till every fall with composted Horse manure, leaves and several yards from the compost pile.
Doing 8 Gorrilla Zkittlez, 1 Watermellon Zkittlez, 1 Dos Si Dos, 1 Garlic, Mushroom and Onion and a Mendo.
We have been getting hammered with rain the past couple weeks here in Mich. Been having a slight problem with Leaf Hoppers. Lost Coast PT has been keeping them in check.
Besides that, these have been screaming along at a good rate.
My 1st attempt at putting up a trellis, might not look great, lol, but its definitely working. These things were getting so big so fast that I made a rookie mistake and topped them kinda late, bout 3 to 4 weeks ago. Should have done it MUCH earlier. But oh well, live n learn.

Taking a page outta @Dirtbag 's book, starting an outdoor thread for 2021!

Here in NorCal, we've had some pretty weird early/mid spring weather. Cold and dry. This is my 2nd season growing outdoor, and I learned a lot last year. Last fall, I cover cropped my 4x10 bed with crimson clover in order to pump up the N. The weekend of the Spring solstice, I chopped the cover crop and covered in Bu's Blend compost and let nature do it's thing. About 4 weeks later, I sowed seeds of various beneficials (alyssum, marigolds, zinnias). Further, I've constructed a hoop house out of EMT, about 6' tall in the center. Covered in poly. The caterpillars pissed me off royally last year so covering my plants this year was essential. They seem to love it! Onto my plants.

I have 3 healthy plants going right now, adding a 4th this weekend. Popped seeds March 17, planted in the bed April 17. In hindsight, I would have waited a couple extra weeks and potted up from 4" to 1 gal pots before planting them in the bed, but I got antsy.

From front to back: Orange Bud (Fem, Homegrown Cannabis), Syrian Hashplant (Reg, Seedsman), "Jazz Cabbage" (Mother is Harlequin CBD, Father is ???? - found 3 seeds in my harvest last year and I got 1 lady out of it based on Phylos sex test). Jazz Cabbage is VIGOROUS. The fan leaves are massive. I've topped both the Jazz Cabbage and the Syrian, each once. I haven't topped the Orange Bud yet because it was off to a really slow start. It's happy now.

Hope Im doing ok at this. This is my first outdoor grow since 1998. I'm shocked it's working out so far. They might look a little heat stressed as its 98 out for the last couple days. They got a little rain last night. Hopefully that should keep them happy today.

I have a heady compost pile i have been feeding with pounds of veggie scraps every week for the last 3 years. I think its going to ready for me to use next year. I'm going to scout out some special genetics this fall. Can't wait to do a proper no till grow.

Everyone’s plants look sooo good. Another growing season is here and I am taking a little different approach this year. Last fall after harvest all the 17 plant root balls were pulled and I planted a cover crop that I found on line especially for cannabis. It grew slowly in the winter and in March I planted Dichon radishes and Fava beans in the bed. June 1 the clones were planted with goat shit and Fox Farm Happy Frog after weedeating the bed to about 2” tall. They were 24”-36” tall when planted and the soil was topped with a liberal amount of goat shit, year before last old bud and shake, guano, alfalfa meal and Neem Seed Meal. I feed the plants a tea once a week consisting of HiBrix molasses, Bokashi, guano, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, etc. This plant is Kimbo(?), a clone I got from a dispensary. A couple weeks ago I found “Runtz” seed for sale here on THCFarmer and bought some. They have germinated and I with put them in soil today.
