Hi,
Would you say these are too close, or too far from led light? Its only two 26w led propagation lights (60cm long) so not a particularly strong light, about 30cm above plants. The plants are leaning a little towards lights too. Tips a little burnt.

Thanks

Lights too far or too close

Wrong light imo

Lift it up the plants gonna stretch leave it be and the leaves burn

Looking at it again I would lift it up.
The plant is showing quite a few signs of stress that and the the plant overall doesn’t look “ great “ lotta leaves curling

I went over the pic as best I can as there is a lotta curling I wondered if you might have bugs to boot but I can’t see much as it’s not the best pic might be worthwhile looking undersides especially if there is spotting on the leaves.

Your wasting time with that light esp as you go into flower grab a better light if you want something worth harvesting if your in it for the smoke

If your not bothered about what you get back fair enough but with that light you won’t get much at all maybe 1/2 oz max probably less

Tighten up your PH, the damage isn't from lights. Looking pretty good tho for what you got!

I'd drop those lights a centimeter above those plants. They need all you can give them since the lights are so weak. Defiantly upgrade if you can, even a generic light will help. If you can't upgrade rock those little 26 watters like a boss. At least you're learning and doing a decent job!

What medium are you using
I would agree the damage doesn’t look like light damage and the curling leaves do suggest a ph issue.

It maybe what’s causing the plant to be so stressed.

Then lights will hold you back mind ok you can veg with low levels of light on photos they just take longer however it won’t work well in flower.

Tbh if your ph Is off and your in coir ( coco ) it would explain the other damage

@Gmix PH is 99% of the problems that you see. Even if you don't know what's wrong just say 'PH is jacked.' 🤣 no no don't but you'd probably be right.

If it's root problems point to light leaks.

People are insanely neglectful of PH. I'm guilty too. But I respect PH fully. When I go into my grow room I don't even look at my plants. #1 mission is to check the PH. Then when I'm done with the PH I'll look over the plants and I'm gone. If it wasn't for PH and topping off my rez I wouldn't see my plants for weeks.

uhh so if you only visit youre plants to check your ph why dont you try Ph perfect. locks it in the sweet spot for you :) ive tried alot of nutes and nothing so far as hit like them nutes :)

Ph perfect.
Yeah but I got to top off my rez anyways. If you let the water get to low the nutrients get too concentrated.

I've never messed with PH Perfect, too scared too. That's how important it is.

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies. Just to clarify.. growing in coco/pebble mix. The current light (26w led propagation light) is only temporary while I wait for a 200w light to arrive (which I'll start off at around 20% power), I won't be flowing under these 26w lights, don't worry!

I checked the ph and youre right, came back at 7.4.... could've sworn I dropped to to 6.2, either I forgot or it's crept up! Sorry!

Levelled lights (got 2 of the 26w) off at 10cm above canopy (7 plants in week 2 veg)
and remixed some nutes, properly pH'd and flushed them through.

That would explain the different coloured leaves and the curling.
I wouldn’t have of dropped the lights lower captspaulding knows his stuff

Well that's a red flag your PH meter is jacked...but maybe not. But wow that's high from 6.2. I don't want to overload you so keep your PH at 6. NO higher during veg for best results.
Think pH meter is ok, I test it regularly, I think I just forgot to add pH down to the mix.

Yeah. That needs to go back up. Yesterday.

no the damage is definitely from the lights. A centimeter above the plants?
Yo if you are here messing with people for kicks, stop.

how long after adjusting PH should you wait before testing?
and will the PH go up or down after awhile?

Anything adjusted ph wise needs to be used day of. It can spike in either direction if left too long depending on what is used. That damage is primarily light driven.

I've had lights (two 26w led) around 30cm above canopy for last week. That's too much for them?

I usually test ph everyday before watering, but haven't last couple of days since I made this mix up as I ran out of cleaning solution that I usually dip the ph pen in after using it.

For 7-8 plants in early veg what style and strength of light would you recommend? I thought the two 26w would be underpowered if anything?

Either way I think you are dealing with a lamp plant proximity issue. I would ease it.
But to veg 8 plants, there are 200watt leds you can acquire for relatively cheap here I have ram 2 of these daily for almost 5 years. Older none upgraded edition and they pulled some killer crops. I hang them 30-36 inches above canopy at 40% in veg for output. With the coupon they are cheap atm. It’s been upgraded too. I’m posting an older cheaper model in case loot is an issue.

That's insulting but I haven't been exposed for long so I understand your concern. There ARE grenade chuckers out there. Scammers, liars. Our hobby is full of evil. I am however, and angel. Not saying to believe me, let me prove myself. 🤝

He's rocking 26w lights. 26w spread over likely 16". Likely 13 2w diodes.

You may be confused about light burn. I had light burn pics but I guess I deleted them. So i googled...

Out of all those pics that showed up I found ONE that was actually light burn, most probably. The rest were PH problems labeled as light burn. Search yourself, light burn leaves, youll see. People look at those pics that confirm light burn but it's not. Then they think they have light burn but it's not. They got PH problems.

Light burn is kinda rare, but lately it seems every leaf issue is light burn. It's easy to blame the lights when people neglect PH.

It's always, 'I checked PH a few days ago...' Nah! It's gotta be checked EVERY DAY. The guys telling us he's neglecting PH and running 26w lights...

You can test it right away! But it's best to let it settle for a couple hours so test it right away to get an idea and come back and test it again later.

You MUST stay on top of your PH every day. You MUST use a PH test that's accurate. Testing pens ARE NOT trustworthy. Yeah they may work flawless but SOON they won't. Even the high priced ones go bad. It's best to use drip tests, they're bulletproof, cheap and never give false readings.
