Hey yall im going to be setting up 2 4x4 grassroots beds in a 5x9 tent and was wondering if anybody has any experience growing this style in tents and if you had drainage issues etc. I'm using the extended gorilla tent which is about 9 ft tall and have 4x4 trays along with plastic pallets. Planning on making a unistrut roller for each bed. Oh and Ill be hand watrering these beds myself

I have a 4x4 bed in my 5x5 tent. When I built my bed I did 2-1/2” of 3/4 rock in the bottom. Then I filled that rock with sand till it was solid. Then the next 5” of soil is the same as the top layer except I added a 1/2 part silt and a half part clay. Then the top 10” is all my mix. Leighton Morrison has some videos out there on building these layers. Good luck on your build.

looks awesome!!!!! I was more wondering about how much water if any you have drain through and out of the bed i plan to catch it in my hydro tray but was wondering if i need to plan to put drain holes in my trays or not.

I usually give it 5 gallons at a time. I use a ecowit moisture meter. When it gets below 35% I water. I don’t have an issue with run off. The sand in the bottom works as an aquafir
