Lollipop Autoflower yes or no?

My friend has a couple of autoflowers at the end of their pre-flowering stage. (Week 5) in DWC. Space is starting to become an issue and humidity keeps rising.
I understand the lollipop technique improves yield and air circulation.

Should he lollipop autoflowers?
If so, should he defoliate the lower leaves in one go or would it be less stressful to the plant to remove 2 leaves a day?.

Can he increase the air exchange? I don't think defoliating downstairs will affect it to much. I'd do it over two days. You can't put leaves back on.
