youve posted in here before lmao.Hey man, I just found this thread now just so you know feel free to link any threads in the train wreck
i lightly scarified them in a matchbox with 400 grit sandpaper, then soaked em for about 8 hours. Then got em onto a moist paper towel in a tupperware. Fresh drop of h202 every few days. I let fresh air in daily, after disinfecting the air, and letting it settle, mushroom inoculation style lmao. Opening the 3 that molded, they didnt have viable embryos, dark and shriveled. too old. The one that disintegrated during the scarifying, it was black n shriveled too. The insides of the one planted are nice and white though. It swelled, and cracked, the root tip never came out but i can see it, no mold on it, no weird smell. As slowly as it swelled and cracked though, not surprised the root tip didnt come sprinting forth. How long did you soak them?
Say bud I got 6/10 .I planted the one cracked Maui last night. Glad i did, as of this morning the remaining 3 that didnt swell have started growing some kind of white mycelium on them that is tolerant of h202. They're definitely dead beans. All4 banner 2 popped no problem. Slow to take off, but popped and look healthy
Fingers crossed on the cracked Maui
I know, but the thread wasn’t clicked to watchyouve posted in here before lmao.

I think capt said it took about 3 weeks to have a tiny seedling with his, so im probably pretty well on track with the 1 so far.
Ahhh well here’s to hopingI know, but the thread wasn’t clicked to watch

i dont water the seedling after the soak, i trasnfer to soil moistened to field capacity of the soil. (no perched water table but thoroughly moistened essentially) the paper towel in between is not soaking wet. Its so the seedling has access to both ample moisture, and oxygen both while its germinating lol. I dont cover them with another towel, just have em sat on a couple layers of moistened paper towel. In a sealed tupperware. I do tend to just set them on an electronic device that stays luke warn to the touch. no fancy heating pads or anything, and when i open to check on things, i treat the entire room im in like im about to inoculate some mushrooms substrates lol. I keep a very clean process. The reason being that a second watering on top of moist soil is obviously pathogen city, and waiting for the medium to dry out to protect against pathogens is likewise obviously terrible for germination.
Yeah us trainwreck addic….. I mean fans, always know where this topic is when we got the fire memesThe thread is bout that life
I dont get nearly the sucess rates or germ times going straight to soil. The soil isnt even wet until right before a seedling emerges from it this way.I know you know what you’re doing, but if I may..
Regardless of your pre-burying methods, I find that the number one thing to ensure healthy germination in pots is to not have to water a second time after initial wetting. And even then, I don’t like to soak the medium densely. I get it to just under saturation, then cover with plastic of some sort, then make sure to find a place that is 72-78 degrees at any given time. Watering even just a second time for a sloooowly germinating seed drastically ups the fungal pressure.
That thread will be a year old in 10ish days I think? Fucking 1900 pages deepYeah us trainwreck addic….. I mean fans, always know where this topic is when we got the fire memes
You may always sir. Don;t hesitate to give me any and all information you feel i may benefit from. The worst thing that'll ever happen is a conversation lmao.I know you know what you’re doing, but if I may..

I could get you setup with a Wi-Fi controlled irrigation system for literally free if you want. You can choose between overhead or drip. I have tons of shit..You may always sir. This is more activity then my journals had in like 6 weeks
Growing for me is a weird mix of incredible OCD, and careless lazyness. Germing old seeds isnt one of the careless lazy things for me. I am with some seeds though. Generally with the F1's like the pb's i have a seedling above soil and growing 4 days after they hit paper towel. i dont bother with h202 or sterile technique or minding moisture or anything. nothing stops those most of the time.
Those oj x BB were nuts too. I had tips wiggling all over the place, some were green and had dropped the casing 36 hours after hitting paper towel the first time i opened them. Those beans were only like 6 months old though, desiccant dried, fridge stored. Probably coulda thrown those down on a half turned compost pile and expected plants.
I still havent set up irrigation to the plot yet. This is the coming weather. Gonna be carrying lots of buckets this week

If I get my hands on any old seeds, the one extra step I would take, aside from being OCD about the essentials, would be to water the soil in with an aerated, broadly diverse microbial inoculant. I have good one.I dont get nearly the sucess rates or germ times going straight to soil. The soil isnt even wet until right before a seedling emerges from it this way.
Generally all i do to remoisten the paper towel is a good drop of h202, its 97% water and usually more then enough moisture readded.
This particular mycelium looks like a predatory cobweb, and it definitely started as the seed not the medium. (in this case was a paper towel kept large sterile)
I do tend to mix the soil with a handful of pelleted feed with the following microbes in the pellets. My water goes through RO filters and then sits in an airstone for a day before i use it already as well. At least for plants inside. It comes out of the well stagnant, and smelling like rotten eggs. Even after the RO before the aeration i can hit it with some food grade h202, and i can watch hydrogen sulfide gas precipitate as particulate sulfur lmao. Its horrible water to start. By the time im done with it though, theres definitely a damn good oxygen boost going into soil over top of these beneficial archaea, bacteria, and mycorrhizae. Per solo cup sized chunk of container for a seedling, theres prob a few pellets of this in there. If I get my hands on any old seeds, the one extra step I would take, aside from being OCD about the essentials, would be to water the soil in with an aerated, broadly diverse microbial inoculant. i already have the system ive just been lazy and need to put it out this weekend. Isnt wifi controlled. Just some half inch hose, 1/4 inch, timer and a bunch of dripper fittings and stakes for em. Id much rather turn a lever then tap a touch screen. But huge grateful thank you nonetheless!!!!I could get you setup with a Wi-Fi controlled irrigation system for literally free if you want. By virtue of you being essentially local that is..
I got lazy diddnt wanna bust out the cloner used about 3 cups of water and about 5ml of clonex clone and seedling solution, and chuck em in they love the shit I never even get droop from cut to roots showing (the cloner is just nice for guaranteed clones) but if they stay perked like this there’s no need for small scale cloning… I still like my 6 spot cloner thoughMy plants are actually rapidly approaching their originally intended finishing size. And moms raised vege bed looks like something out of Valhalla right now.
That flood plane loam though, that shit is legendary. Didnt give my plants a whole ton of it. Hoping the heat and the dwindling of the loam will actually slow growth rates a bit. i dont wanna start hacking on em. Im actually going to skip this weeks goat poo and compost rake-in and see what happens.
I really need to take clones, but keep putting it off. Not sure why.
i actually rambled while back in the trainwreck on how if you really want to, just leave clones in a cup of water and add few drops h202 every couple days. And occasionally ive been lazy enough to simply notice my clones were rooting after just changing the water every other day after putting off getting some domes and stuff together for a while. No rooting hormone even required if ya wanna be uber lazy.I got lazy diddnt wanna bust out the cloner used about 3 cups of water and about 5ml of clonex clone and seedling solution, and chuck em in they love the shit I never even get droop from cut to roots showing (the cloner is just nice for guaranteed clones) but if they stay perked like this there’s no need for small scale cloning… I still like my 6 spot cloner thoughmight upgrade the lid to 8 or 10 spots though
These are a week old, they didn’t even stop growing lol
