Yes there's a outlet at the lowest possible place you can position with a 1/2 tube and has a ball valve. I added a 200 gph pump on the line and it takes about 15ish minutes to fully drain out.Quick question. For nutrient change do you pump out each buckert seperately or is there a centralized location to just pump it all out?
I ended up going DIY using current culture buckets. I did reach out to alien and they provided a video interview with a commercial grower I can link if you want and then there is "native sugar shack" on YouTube. I'm assuming that's the 1 guy you are talking about?Got my new 6 site about to put together after this harvest. Looks great I have the 58L 6 site vortex as well. How is everyone’s going anyone harvest on there’s yet? Sorry to ask but can’t find much out there about this except one person on YouTube and the company videos. Thanks hope everyone is having fun with there and growing quality and quantity!!!
Not sure older guy in ok using a strait 4 I think? Yes that would be amazing!!! Please do post send the link! Yeah I ran the current culture xxl 13, nine site for a few years and liked it a lot but I made my own system to and always liked it more. I happened to get this system new in the box for an extremely good deal and had wanted one a long while. But I see some issues with it in my mind but nothing serious or hard to adjust.I ended up going DIY using current culture buckets. Yeah it was actually a podcast with Black dog LED, not extreamly informative but it's the 1st commercial grower to use it i beleive. You can probably skip to 46 min in and possibly further, doesn't actually go into the grow area until near the end.Not sure older guy in ok using a strait 4 I think? Yes that would be amazing!!! Also nice if I found it for a reasonable price I'd snag it too.Not sure older guy in ok using a strait 4 I think? Yes that would be amazing!!! Please do post send the link! Thanks for the detailed review! I'll definitely consider them for the 2nd setup when I make the space.Hello all. We are 4 weeks away from our second run harvest with the Alien system. 3x Northern Lights and 1x of a strain called LA grown from clones. We haven't experienced any pipe blowouts or leaks this round thank goodness. The system overall is definitely the right investment. It's producing ridiculous buds in quantity and in density. We've never had a dead leaf, they are the healthiest plants you'd see. It does make it hard to keep humidity down, so we've invested in a high end dehumidifier which has eliminated that concern. We use Athena blended fertilizers. Adding cleanse in a bit more than the first round appears to have helped clean the scale from within the pipes. We also turned down the water a degree and 65⁰ is the set, but the chiller and heater keep it between 65-67⁰. We noticed very light root rot at the tips which we didn't know about until we harvested and pulled the root balls up so we're hoping the added cleanse and lower temp will prevent that in this run.
We just started germinating our next run from seeds, and after a week of cold stratification we had gone from seed to 2 inch seedlings in 26hrs, unbelievable! We're going with Jack Herer seeds from a bank that's got a proven yield of 1+lb dried per plant indoors.
Have any picture of your grow? How long are you vegging and to what size? Thanks very informative!Hello all. Ok so how much cleanse per gallon did you use..that still got root rot, and how much per gallon you going to use now?Hello all. Ya i seen that. Its a couple week old post.Just found a horrible horrible post about a commercial facility having none stop root rot from the system due to the rubber tubing is what they think. I think the water level is to high though and that’s just where is is collecting but idk . I think they need airstones also…..
Lmk how it goes! I lower my water on my under current a little when the roots start getting larger. Not much, but a little over time and haven’t had issues in it with no covers. That said I also don’t start with rockwool I use rooter plugs and hydroton or the large white recycled crashed glass rocks, they are like large heavy duty perlite like rocks. I have seen algae a couple times so I covered with industrial foil and didn’t have the issue again! These seem like amazing systems I just thing they lack air I will be adding airdrome out the gate with mine when and if I ever use it. Right now my 6 site is sitting in the box still and I put it on market place because I’m kinda worried about the recent review. Anyway good luck!!! How far along are you?Ya i seen that. Its a couple week old post.
And i believe its user error. But only time will tell.
Also if plantind seedlings, the netpot has a way of letting in light leaks, or so it seems to me. So i over packed the netpots and ordered netpot covers to try help.
Actually looks like he is having the same problems but his have started even earlier than the ones I’m talking about . The issue you see in there be aimed a huge issue later on and if he looks in his rubber pipes he will see the build up I’m guessing the other alien grows I have seen recently are having…. I think maybe adding a blocking mechanism in the bottom drain to stop roots from going in and something to slow the circular flow while adding more o2 would make it an amazing system. I might keep and modify mine and see how it goes. I will let you all know! But will be running my two large undercurrent systems for now on large scale instead until this is figured out. Here is recent growdiary with the new V system, looks pretty impressive if you ask me: https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/alien-v-system-vs-dwc-noob.167138/?post=3252090#post-3252090
I just want you to know i came up with a system to not have any signs of root rot.Hello all.
