Ya know i'm a older grower nearing 70. And for me the truth is...........it smells different from my jar all spicy or grape or fruity but the doobie just taste like MJ i don't get what " loud " means? All i smoke 90% is my homegrown and doobie form. Sorry i'm no help.

by loud I just mean strong smell and flavor I also only smoke what I grow but some strains have a better smell and taste and that is what I want in my weed

I can't get high or benefit in any medical way from how my weed smells aside from psychological. But I do have to smoke the shit to get high, and because of that, taste is more important to me over smell.

Sounds to me you're looking for a high myrcene strain that leans heavily into the thiols. More power to ya!

How is your drying process, most of the flavor and smell comes from a rigid drying regimen.

I'm using a small bedroom blacked out with a air conditioner in the window and I use a dehumidifier and or humidifier my temp is about 60-65f and humidity is around 55-65% takes 8-12 days to get mostly dry then I put in totes with temp/humidity meter and monitor then I trim and jar and burpevery day or two for first week then less often one thing I would like to improve is the temp and humidity fluctuations let me know if you have any tips

The rankest shit I have is cluster funk from Bodhi , Starkiller OG From Rare Dankness and some chem fuego from Lucky Dog and the Gorilla Fume’ from Lucky Dog is up there too !! Sunshine daydream is “ loud “ too but more berryish where as the others are just stank. GMO Is supposed to be a reeker but I’ve never personally grown it. I would highly recommend any of the above

Genetics
You won't get any more from a plant than it is genetically capable of realizing.

Nutrients
Even with good genetics, without proper nutrition it won'to reach its full potential. One element essential for terpene and cannabinoid synthesis is sulfur. It's not one I see discussed much.

Trimming
Trichomes that contain terpenes are mostly on the leaves. Excessive trimming removes a lot of terps. You lose flavor, nuances of the buzz and, for some like me, most of the medicinal benefits.

Drying
Improper drying can degrade cannabinoids and terpenes. Personally, I think people stress about this too much. I've never had ideal conditions regarding temps, rh or light exposure and have yet to experience any adverse results. These days my plants hang in my living space which is a big art studio. I run a dehumidifier and fans. It seems to suffice. If my weed got LESS potent somehow then it's probably a good thing. Lol

Curing
A good cure brings out more to me. I find that the aroma, taste and effects change over a few months time.

Storage
Once the bud is done evolving, keeping it stored in the right conditions minimizes long term degradation. I grow a year's supply at a time so this is key for me. I use Grove bags that I store in totes.

Just continuing to the next bullet.

For long term storage, get a mason jar vacuum sealing kit and seal your jars with a boveda pack in it. Keep in a cool dark place, ideally where temps never go above 75. When you pull from the jar, vacuum seal it back up.

BTW no good reason to vacuum seal less than 6 months from when harvested unless you don't want it to cure anymore than it has, and at 6 months that's about all the cure you're gonna get so you may as well vacuum seal and preserve at that stop point.

My White Widow has a great lemony spice pepper smell that never made past the flame. Hits like pot. Smells like pot. Better taste then any dispensary pot I ever had but that's because I never had fresh dried cannabis.
Since I had my first grow I have bought 2 1/10th jars cause sale and spend x get a 10th for a buck.
I got a nice Garlic Cookies and a lemon dosi.
Neither was worth the dollar. They looked like they were trimmed with a belt sander or perhaps Trim put into a " bud mold " and pressed.
Truly horrible.
I am happy with my jar cure for now but I am also just throwing mass market beans into dirt, not on the cutting edge of genetics in my tent

I grew Upaya a few years back - was the strongest nose I’ve ever grown. The high is nothing to write home about.
