I have 2 plants growing, 1 in flower (from bagseed), and 1 from one random seed that came from a kush breed, supposedly master og. I'm hoping to find someone that is as into growing as much as I am. I will show you mine if you show me yours lol.

The one in flower now has gone through so much stress (full grown fungus gnats, overwatered, snapped at first node topped, and back to veg on accident, and back to gnats not full grown and overwatered again) and I'm hoping she comes back super strong

Wow, poor thing. An inch thick layer of diatomateous earth as a top dressing and tons of sticky traps got my gnats under control. I think pouring boiling water on my fox farm dirt before transplant helped too.

I water from the bottom only. This keeps the top couple inches of soil dry which eliminates the soil gnats as they cannot crawl through the dry soil. Does the same thing as diatomateous earth, only it`s free.

How do you water from the bottom?

Do you just fill the tray underneath the pot? And I've been using DE too. They flee the scene after a few days.

I have seen a piece of pfc pipe placed in the dirt while potting but that seems like it would just water one spot.

If I water from the bottom do I have to worry about over watering still? Can I just keep the tray under the 5 gallon pot filled with water without any problems?

If you kept it in a tray of water and never let the soil dry out it would cause it to get root rot.

That's what I was thinking... I will continue to use lift the pot technique

Ok... so I filled up my tray and the plant sucked it up over the night.. the plants pot is heavy. I know it can be lighter by drying out, but I am confused that it still sucked it up that fast. How long should I wait to pour more water in?

Let it get dry before watering again, but don't let the plant wilt.
This should help keep root rot at bay.
