Someone needs a new source of reading material!

$115,000 annually? Somebody misplaced a decimal point. More like $11500.00 annually/minimum wage/no benefits.

"How much cash do you have?" LOL. Ain't that the truth!
Yeah! Everybody seems to think so! I was watching one of those documentaries, i think it was called pot rush. I'm not so sure which one but it was from a news or tv section. However! I did mean that such salary was for owners not the head care taker, so that might make a difference.

Thank you for the offer! Right now I'm still saving up, I am in grad school for the time being and so the questions are more for direction purposes. Well, if by consultation there would be a fee then Ill keep it in mind for later on, because I still need to further research the topic. But if you ment you are willing to share your experience then by all means!

I was sarcastic and joking.

Gold in California is a great example. I have a creek thru my place that definitely has gold in it. I invested about $300. In panning equipment 7 years ago. It's here, it's possible someday I will break even. The chance

Oh.

Come setup shop.. if you think anyone is blowing it up with quality weed you are mistaken. The more competition the better. Come and compete.. it's the American Dream.. It is never too late if you are better than everyone else.

No one got rich mining gold during the gold rush.. But those that sold shovels to the miners sure did..

Been hearing this analogy quite a bit lately. Banks obviously aren't going to loan a person shit to start a grow, but import some coco or mix up some salts and slap a label on it, with a decent business plan there's a chance for funding.

Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

I am at 1750.00 cause my services are that good and I am worth it, stop underselling yourself guys.

The world does not revolve around pot.
If you really want to get in on a "Rush" join us.
Join the revolution of us growing real food. The real food revolution, can live without pot...
I have seen so many folks coming to the realization that food is medicine.
Prevention thru nutrition, our motto.
Pay us now and stay well or get sick and pay some doctor who will give you a chemical that will not cure only mask symptoms..
I have younger friends who started small family organic farms and are doing very well. Their kids do not know and would not touch fast food. Growing up working as a family on a farm is a lifestyle that is lost, but making a comeback.
The kids are so healthy, smart, respectful, no iPhone or video games, goats, chickens, fresh air, work.
grow a few nice plants, give away some, trade and barter some, can sell a little here and there for pocket money, give friends a good deal they will come back...
Farming of any type in Denver?? Think Not..
Go west young man go west.....

Your initial research was watching a tv show that isn't an accurate preview into this business, you have completely unrealistic goals and ideas, and every single thing you've posted has been posted by many people before you. There are the big boys in the nutrient biz, but there are also smaller companies as well. If you think you are getting into the nutrient game, good luck. Have you looked at the label on a bag of soil to see what is required and where? Nutrients are the same way. Are you going to be organic? Certified? Your first payment should be to a defense lawyer, you'll need it. You don't need to pay a consultant to tell you that your idea needs...work. If Muir backs out I can cut my rate further by 0.5%.
Or, call a shop when they aren't busy and if you are lucky enough to find someone who knows anything, ask them how easy it was to get into the biz.
Good luck. Caregiving would be your best bet, but you have to register with the state and open your grow up to inspection, I believe. Someone will correct me if I am not right.
Words fail me but this is fucking fantastic. So great.

Given the grad schooliness, I will say the legal MJ biz and drug dealing in general are fascinating research topics.

BUT!!!!! It is almost impossible to do adequate/accurate research on it. Remember all the hubbabaloo about the book Freakanomics and how they concluded drug dealers are making less than minimum wage; ignoring the fact that their data sample was based on a completely ridiculous approach to selling drugs that is not employed by any groups other than perhaps a large street gang in that particular market.

You need to think outside the box, grab that low lying fruit, throw the neighbor under the bus, do more with less, then circle back, bite the bullet and finally run it up the flag pole. That should do it, you'll be a millionaire in no time.

I still think the opportunity is here to make a go of things. But start-up money is the biggest challenge. Almost all the shops grow low grade weed and are doused with toxic chemicals. I think a great niche would be to focus on top quality bud that's clean and grown in soil. Much the same how microbrews have gained success there are always people who will pay for the good stuff. But running a successful biz takes lots of hard work and lots of hard money to get it going. And then to keep it going takes more work as well. You need a damm good business plan, some heavy cash and/or investors, a good lawyer, a trusted accountant, some big balls and some brains to pull it off.

Maybe one of the hardest issues right now that I am aware of is finding property that will allow you to open up shop. They property owners are aware that they own in a location that allows, which are few and far between anymore. So they take advantage of that. I've heard of owners making potential growers paying upwards of $20,000 a month just to hold the property for a 'potential' tenant that is at the current time trying to jump through all the hoops the municipalities put in place, with no gaurentee of ever even opening up shop.

$20k is nothing to big MMC's if you look at P&L. They spend more than that on healthcare for employees. I don't see anything wrong with places charging more. Obviously the market can handle it, but the fact that warehouse vacancy was a major problem that was completely solved by pot shops. I find nothing wrong with the auto shop closing and selling the property to an MMC for their retirement.

edit: Welcome to the shit show.

Pennsylvania is awaiting the Governor's signature, Delaware passed last year, lots of new markets out there, Colorado is flooded, by both prospective growers and amateur ones, i'd look at a new green rush, not one that's over and done with.
