Low heat led Light advise.

Hi all

The 200w lumatek lights I have look like this & you can’t remove the drivers witch get hotter than the 475w one I own do as there made differently.




I’m only using 1/2 of my flowering tent with 6 plants in it and the plants are overcrowded.

I’ve a 456w In a 7.5x3.5 foot tent witch is backed against a window witch will get the heat come summer so a 600w will more than lightly be too hot come summer.

I want to add a bit more light however I can’t buy something & hope for the best so I could do with some advice.

does anyone know of a 150-200w led that doesn’t bang out a lot of heat.

the lumatek 200/300w one’s do so I can’t bung one of them i own in there. It’s the way there 200/300 range ones are made.

The photos you have are of the UK 300w. The 200w only has 2 “rings” of LEDs not 3.

I have the North American version of the 300w, SQ300W. It’s perfectly fine for my 3x3x6, what size tent is yours in?

My 450w (440w) gets much hotter.

Do you have any fans inside the tent or venting?

I’ve sorted the lights right out now. I have manged to get a 475w & 600w for £850

also brought a new 4x4f veg tent so the rooms full but hey what else is a spare room for I’m paying for it.

I threw that 200w in there & the temp didn’t go up that much as it was directly under the extraction fan in fact it stayed at 77f.

So looks like I’ll put another 475w in the flowering room & a 600w in the veg room.

I have ways of lowering the temp if needed like turning on the inline fan if nothing else & tbh I have a big machine the will pump in cool air if I had to I prefer not to use it mind as it’s a bit noisy
