Question on sacrifice ... Say that branch does die ... What steps should I take to remove it and clean it ... So it doesn't rot the stalk from cutting it an an open wound ? I ask cause last year I had a stalk die... Removed it and it festered. I sterilized my scissors... But it was almost like it needed ..a bandaid to cover the wound.

It is this stalk that bent View attachment 2510294
If you cut it, place honey on the cutting area. Just a smooth layer about 1/2 thick

Ohh it sounds so bad outside 😮 😮 lol .

Learned thing ...

Last year I defoliated more This year I did less.

It's a toss up... This year looks like leaving the leaves in place longer has helped the lower buds develop better , as they have acted like an umbrella . With the rain, But I imagine that's only a good things as long as the spacing is adequate.

I went to take off some leaves and noticed the buds that have a leaf over top like a umbrella look less bruised , than the ones exposed to the directly to the rain. Was gonna remove because they were shaded and ....decided maybe wait . More storms coming. .

The weired West wind is back.. slapping the hell out of the glue pretty hard . Having to pull her out of it . Even though sun is shining, so it sucks ! Have her tied off to roof to help but I'm failing. Normally a chair works as a wind break but it's busting through it ,they pretty heavy now .😁

Tried to counter it with the fan and a door open ... Isn't working. So she is out of it as much as I can get her .

The neighbor trimmed her big trees last year ... Also last years last two storms took out some trees in the general direction the gust is coming from so I figure it's just new and here to stay

Hit em with Nutes now, wait 2-3 weeks and you’re probably done. If you don’t have a x60 jewelers loop than use your IPhone on Magnifier and get close pictures in direct sunlight. You’ll see clear/cloudy/opaque or amber.
Best of luck! What Zone are you?
