I'm pretty close to the equator so I need supplemental lighting. I have a 400watt MH I stick them under at night. Being on a constant 12/12 light schedule has its draw backs but it's nice to be able to trigger flowering anytime of the year. So I can run whatever I want. These are Moby Dick and I think diesel

Wow. I can only imagine, Veg out and then throw them outdoors for flowering almost all year round. Just another example of the amazing environments around the world. And to think ppl in the Emerald Triangle claim to have the best growing season, maybe in North America lol.

And I believe combining all training techniques as needed is best in my opinion.

I went a little crazy this round in veg with training and ended up with a beast .

I've been doing this and FIM, for years Still do.. I just called it bonsai effect.. that's another passion of mine, much like weed. It's all about control an beauty just a bit more longevity. Keep it going. I personally like the look of the stem when chopped down. I even turned a weed plant into bonsai before an grew forced it to grow mini-fan leafs.
Keep up good work.

If you get a chance do it. With your technique bro I don't even know in a good way lol. With my now old technique lol I pulled 10 zips of dried product in a 5g pot under 400 watts , it will be the first one I try with your technique.

Cutting back so much in veg is always hard.. Just a mental thing I guess.. It's all worth it when you see good desirable growth though. This is my first attempt at this style pruning. I'm about to fire up a 12 site 5 gallon bucket 2 DE grow and I want to see how effective this is.

Top pic is before. Bottom is after and the bottom two are what I'm after (equal and plentiful stem shoots)

Let me start off by saying LST is by no means advanced lol. I'm just curious if there are any LST guys out there. I use to FIM a lot and top (seems like no one does FIM anymore) having fun trying something different.

I tried something a little different this time and trimmed a decent amount of fan leaves blocking direct light from smaller sites and Once I had every limb pinned down it really exposed the other sites. I also hacked off some of the sites I thought wouldn't amount to much.

Suggestions/critiques?

Genius or mistake.. I still haven't decided. Im enjoying this training technique and the plant is responding how I want it to.

I pinned the new growth using other branches as anchors lol

Decided to do a bit more thinning. I have a feeling the top of this plant is going to look like a Christmas tree farm.

A little before and after here. I think it's going to explode after this session. The question is if and when do you remove the anchor..

Some branches you can remove the anchor point.

Some seem to develop spring loaded branches from the resistance and clump in the center once released.

Some tend to also lean towards the light during flower. So staying anchored helps keep them in the position you deem ideal.

You can top as much as you want in veg. Just leave some leaves and branches to grow out and you'll be good.

I figured they where going to have to stay. No big deal. If it skins open that branch like it's doing I'm happy.

As stated be sure and leave tops to take advantage. The benefit of topping is the even dispersion of the growth hormone to each budsite. If there are none than it defeats the purpose. Also topping is pretty stressful on the plant so I would say do it in small doses. My .02 anyways.
