Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted, but I haven't gone anywhere. I'm gonna make a new grow journal tonight. Anyways, I started brewing up some tea last night, it's been 18hrs and I haven't seen any foam. Here's the recipe I used:

4gal water. Used the small boy dechlorinator/carbon/sediment filter. Does it need to be R/O?
4TBSP each root/foliar pack
100mL liquid carboload
50mL maxicrop
handful of worm castings in a sock

I did all of this outside, and it was outside through the night. My guess is that it's either the cold temps, non-R/O water, or maxicrop that's causing the problem. Any advice?

I have NEVER had foam in my teas, and the plants love them. Don't quote me on this, but i think i read some suspect the sea green people are using that causes major foam overflows.

id guess lack of molasses as well.. seems to be a big "foamer".. i dont believe foam is is a good judge of microbial activity.. sometimes i get foam others i dont. just my opnion tho. could be very wrong

I rarely had foam until I bought a small aquarium heater. Set it to 75 and BAM!!! I get Cap Combovers everytime now. Also what size air pump were you using? I haven't tried Carboload....but I'm sure it would work just as well as Blackstrap. As far as Sea Green goes I add it right before I use my tea.....otherwise I think the mess would be ten times as bad.

It's gotta be the temps. The last time I brewed some, I got a cool amount of foam. I read that no foam = booboo in one of the posts in the tea thread. Still smells like some nice doodoo tho...I'm gonna go ahead and use it lol

i brewed around noon and was worried not getting foam.. over night tons of foam overload... i put everything in there... 1 cup alfalfa, 1 cup ewc, 30ml humic, yucca, silica clay, molasses, caps trio

temps i would say normal or on the colder side.. I wonder if the hot pump starting blowing hot air??

Was the heater the only thing that you changed? The reason I ask is because our tea's bubble around 80F for 24-36 hours, and have not seen crazy foam yet, i will try 75 tomorrow and see how she goes!

Tea Recipe
-water
-molasses
-EWC
-cap's trio

all proportional the OGBIOWAR recipe..

I find that Temp, Sea Green, Alfalfa meal make the difference in my foam level.
Also make sure your air stone is clean and the pump is strong enough for your rez size.
Bubbling and aerating properly is key elements as well.

Make sure your molasses water mixture is at 7ph......I do every thing just like you...but I also have alfalfa in with my EWC.

Always between 6.5 and 7..and alfalfa is going to be added next time, after much reading im excited to see any changes after applying it.

Thanks for all the good info guys! The last time I brewed, I used Trinity which has alfalfa meal in it, so maybe that's why I didn't get any foam. I'll let you guys know how it turns out!

If you want foam just add a little yucca extract. :)

Seriously though no foam is nothign to worry about. are you getting some caked grime around the inside of the bucket at the water level?

Yeah Cap.....I gotta scrub my bucket for like 30 minutes to get all the caked stuff off.

There was some buildup around the edges. Not a TON, but it was definitely there. I kept stirring it up, though...
