Mammoth Lighting has this new light using the Samsung LM301H EVO "mint white" chips with over 2600 micro mols. I am thinking about grabbing a couple. Anybody have experience with Mammoth?

My limited knowledge of Mammoth is they have a good reputation. Price isn’t bad at approximately $1/watt.

They included 3rd party testing with that light here: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0043/8855/2778/files/Light_Lab_Test_8_Bar.pdf?v=1635440010

It looks like an extremely good light, but I am surprised the efficacy rating is 2.87-2.75. I would have thought they would break 3.0 efficacy, other manufacturers are. Efficacy isn’t the have all end all metric though.

I ended up going with 2 of the 680w. LEDgrowlightsdepot had them in stock.

That sphere test you linked is for the "Fold-8" light from them, not the new "Mint White" light I am referring to. I ended up going with the 6 bar instead of the 8.
Mint White 6-bar PPF = 2006 µmol/s @ 2.95 @ $775
Mint White 8-bar PPF = 2613 µmol/s @ 2.97 @ $999

I just popped some beans a few weeks ago and the plants are really digging the spectrum! Nice tight internodal spacing on all 3 strains I'm running. I've got two of the 6-bar in a 4x8 and it's more than enough light. I'm glad I grabbed that Apogee from you. That thing has been invaluable! So far I am extremely pleased with these lights.

Patiently waiting on my Mammoth light to show up. Also got the 6 light one. Read reviews for a month and a half before I decided on that one.

Ive got 2 of the 8 bar, 880w on order and with the 100w UV Bars.

Ive also seen 2 different umol ratings for this light. 2613umol, and 2713umol.

They/Mammoth also rates both the 6 bar, and 8 bar at 3.1 efficiency.

Welcome to the FUTURE… of Enhanced Growth + Clean Product!
NEW “Mint White” Series Utilizing Samsung’s Newest Plant-Centric Chip

Samsung’s newest EVO chip has landed with Mammoth and a revolution in plant lighting has arrived. Using a differentiated spectrum, trials show larger and heavier growth….even under the same ppfd conditions.
Samsung’s innovative plant-centric spectrum LED dramatically boosts photosynthesis over existing horticulture lighting solutions and results in better, more holistic plant growth. Its 437 nm spectral peak, a shorter wavelength than that of conventional horticultural white LEDs, also stimulates secondary metabolites, such as phenolics and flavonols, to improve plant’s nutritional quality.
Moreover, this newly engineered spectrum effectively inhibits the growth of microorganisms like bacteria and fungi, leading to longer-lasting storability. Lastly, its industry-leading PPE consumes minimal energy, contributing to long term energy-savings and reduced operational costs for indoor farms.

After years of testing, Mammoth Lighting has put together a proprietary blend of Samsung "Mint White" LM301h EVO diodes + LM301b diodes (Samsung EVO +3000k+5000k+660nm+730nm) to produce a light spectrum to optimize plant growth, increase yields and produce faster flowering times .... all while consuming less energy and reducing operating costs compared with traditional horticulture technologies.
**Note** This is a limited Pre-Sale. We are trying our best to keep up with demand. Please get all orders in asap, as we continue to sell out of each pre-sale.

Features:

1. Plug and Play (fold) out of the box.
2. 469 diodes per bar delivers the industry's Highest PPFD and Yield. The #1 diode in Horticulture
3. Choose between the 6 bar (680w), 8 bar (880w)
4. Fuller" spectrum: With a proprietary blend of Samsung EVO + 3000k + 5000k + 660nm + 730nm, for full cycle growth. 730nm speeds up flower (~5 days) and adds up to 5% more yield
5. Up to 6x6 flower coverage, 7x7 veg coverage
6. Standard Knob Dimming + RJ port to connect multiple lights to an external controller.
7. Higher Quality parts then the competition using both Samsung diodes and Inventronics drivers
8. Strategically designed bars/spacing delivering more even lighting coverage (and growth) over a 5'x5'
9. Removable bars + Driver for quick field and warranty service
10. Remote mountable driver leaves more room in vertical settings and less heat in tents
11. Future proof with replaceable bars and driver as technology advances.....

How are those Mammoth Mint series lights treating you people now that some time has passed? Do they actually run cool?

Fellow 8-Bar owner here using in my latest grow and have a few questions for other owners and what their results have been with this and height and intensity settings.

I ask as with my current grow this thing seems to be causing light stress to a few of my plants but I have it well under the usual ballpark PAR ranges for the various stages of a grow (e.g. Veg: 300-600, Flower: 600-1000+). I know another user @SoSoBurntToast is having and seeing similar things.

To go back to my current grow (5x5) for example, initially I was definitely stressing them out as I had the light way too close but even now at 26" (I had put it up to 30" but growth etc) I'm seeing a little light stress on the tips of a few of my current grow. DLI calc seems ok though.

I do have a light meter and it's registering around 600PAR, give or take, at the highest canopy level 4 weeks in to flower. I have the actual light set to 1600PPF (I'm aware PPF is just the PAR value over a given time) which is 61%.

Is it just the light is so efficant and efficient that lower levels are needed than the usual ranges we look to grow by as that is my only current conclusion or maybe I'm missing or misunderstanding something completely?

I'm not knocking the light as it seems fantastic but I'd love to dial it on better for my grows. So if anyone can shed any light on or share any more information on using it and their experience I'd be very interested to hear.

Here’s what I did.

I got the Photone app on my android,

I used the ppfd map they have from mammoth AND migro did one too, and calibrated my app,

Now I can hang my lights at whatever height and use the dimmer accordingly to get 300-600 ppfd for veg etc. it’s working great.

Sounds good.

My problems seem to have cleared up tbh. Definitely having them hanging at the correct height and power has worked (as you mention). Not seeing any issues for this current grow. Great light imo.
