BAY COUNTY -- A 23-year-old man died Friday morning after he choked to death on a bag of marijuana while fleeing from police, according to a Bay County Sheriff's Office press release.
Deputies had been called to a hotel on Front Beach Road for a disturbance at about 2 a.m. A female had reportedly been assaulted by Andrew Grande, the release said.

A deputy found him in the parking lot and handcuffed him, as he struggled. During the struggle, they noticed he was trying to put something in his mouth.
Grande managed to free himself and was Tasered, the report said. He tried to pull the Taser probes from his body, and a short time later, seemed to be choking.
Deputies tried to use the Heimlich maneuver on him but were unable to clear his airway. EMS arrived and used a pair of forceps to pull a large bag of marijuana out of his airway.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been contacted to help with the investigation.
During the altercation, a deputy was injured, the release said. He has been treated and released from the Gulf Coast Medical Center.
Three deputies have been placed on administrative leave.
