Really can't figure it out (Manganese? Potassium? N tox?). Autopots, Coco using Green Planets ProCal, Dual Fuel & Vitathrive @~500PPM. Dialled it down from ~600 as I thought I was getting nute burn. pH of 5.8-5.9 at root zone.

i think i see 2 defs and 1 tox the red stems burnt tips and brown spots if you dont have a lockout due to a bad PH level than i wouldnt know whats causing it as you can clearly see you feed your plants.

but yo apart from that the plants are rocking pretty sweet :)

maybe your nute practices are a little off ? tone it down on the N and with the Phos def i really couldnt fix that for myself the past 2 grows :( people who use coco/perlite tend to add a cal/mag suppliment and if you do buy one watch out for the N traces in brands i heard deisel rhyno K is good

with the light if you give them too much it actrully makes the tox and defs worse O.O but your early early catching this

Hey mate,

Firstly thanks for your time mate. I appreciate ya!

I was using organic pH balancers to begin with and the plants went to ~6.8pH like twice for ~10 hours or so, could they be locked out from that perhaps? That happened ~5 days ago. Have since remedied by getting hydroponic pH balancers that make the res a lot more stable.

Also the purple stems have always been around; I thought that was genetic honestly. Maybe not!

Leaf side points rolled up and blistered surfaces. Lights to close bud.
Back the light off to 30 inches at about 65% for veg. Let her grow up to the light. Other than that I don't see anything wrong with your plant. PH is right where it needs to be don't mess with it.

Yeah they've definitely grown to it, and I haven't adjusted since.

Putting lights higher now.

Thank you for taking the time to help mate, legend.

no worries my fellow grower :D
PH balancers can they ever be off ? like put it in a weird spot ?
i use advanced nutes and its ment to lock the ph in the sweet spot. checked the drainage one time and saw it down to 3. a lockout can occur if they fall out of the sweet spot and it actrully changes through the plants life. so from what ive read around 6.5 - 7ph for veg and 5.5-6ph for bloom

the best you can do is check ec and PH every watering and aim for that sweet spot. but usually with a lockout youll see more defs, like a cal and mag def. if your getting light burn this can increase how hard the defs hit your plants.

the purple it could be in the strain for sure ! youll find out when shes bigger. if the bottom stems are all green and mainlythe upper branchs are purple than thats a def whereas a purple in a strain will have purple marks usually all over the plant

i personally dont know enough about whats happening with your plants so im hear to learn too haha

If your in coir aka coco your ph levels fine. Have you just watered them as i see water and wondered if it’s was too hot causing transportation or just a water splash. Might also of been to hot due to the light being to close however you’ve moved that up now witch is good.

Purple stems can indicate to low a p however I think it is genetic seeing how well they are feed, mind so can the cold cause it

hope this helps
this plant can look like this due to
  • Nutrient deficiency (incorrect pH, nutrients went bad, etc.)
  • Light stress (light too close)
  • Heat stress (too hot)
  • Watering or root problem
  • Cold shock
  • Bugs (especially if there’s a lot of them)

Leaves curling up brown spots due to incorrect ph nutrient problem

Thank you both!!!

Adjusted the lights and turned them up ever so slightly to compensate as I said. At ~4-5ft above canopy now. I'll see how she fairs over next couple of days and start going through the checklist of things... Hopefully it was just the lights.

Thanks again!

Do grow in coir or soil or a mix of both
I can’t work out the dramatic ph change from 7 to 5.8 it kinda makes little sense it’s like a mad mix of soil ph and coir ph

Genuinely asking cause I’m just confused as to the dramatic ph change ; nothing else 🙂

yo dude download protone on ya phone that number it shows just google the par level for each stage your plants are in
seems to do the job alright. youre about to find out why short fat plants are better than tall skinny ones :D

i started outdoor soil
than moved into indoor soil
than moved to soil/coir/perlite
than moved to coco/perlite this grow has been the hardest both grows ive done around the 3rd week of flower i cop a weird PH change
so in about 6 months ill expand and try hydro or aeroplonic's :)

i hate ph and ph hates me lol

I feel your pain with PH mate.

Definitely look into difference between organic and hydroponic balancers, the difference between the two in hydro is astounding.

I've also heard aerating your water for a day or two using an air stone can help stop pH drifting so badly, but not sure if that's bro-science or not lol.

haha yeah it will be a step and a half on how to use the pump too im just not mechanic savvy im more tech savvy
im sure ill buy a kit get half way through and realise i should had brought another kit . i will look into balancers too i could really use them i think

I must admit i grow organically and have no need to ph it does make life easier well it works for me that doesn’t mean it would for everyone.
Ph ing is a pita i used to loathe nowadays being fully organic I only check the water hasn’t changed about every 6-12mths

Good luck to you both

Update in case any one has similar symptoms as me and happens to visit this thread:

So, I think I found the problem. I had fluctuations of my pH due to organic pH balancers previously (as I said in the thread), and I think the wild swings are what caused these symptoms.

(As well as nute burn - tips of growth burning, and some light stress).

Makes sense to me. Symptoms of that should stop now as pH values are stable (here's to hoping). Lights a little higher, and nutes dialled down a fair bit. GG's.
