March against monsanto

Top 10 reasons to join the March Against Monsanto tomorrow! (Saturday, May 25, 2013)

by: Mike Adams

The global March Against Monsanto happens tomorrow! Nearly three hundred cities will host what's sure to be hundreds of thousands of protesters and activists around the globe who are taking a stand against Monsanto and GMOs.

YOU can join in the activities, too! Check this site to see if there's a march planned near you:
http://occupy-monsanto.com/march-against-monsanto-may-25-2013/

And learn more about the event at this FB page:
https://www.facebook.com/MarchAgainstMonstanto

Here are my top 10 reasons to attend the March Against Monsanto!

#1) There will be tons of press coverage, so your voice will be heard

It's hard to get your voice heard these days. But now's your chance! Bring your protest sign, wear a shirt with a message, speak to news crews or even give a speech to the audience. This is your chance to have your voice heard on an issue of crucial importance to the future of life on our planet.

#2) Send a powerful message to Monsanto that their corporate evil will not be tolerated by the people of the world

Beyond the media watching this event, Monsanto will also be very closely monitoring what happens. (Look out for "Monsanto spies" at every event!)

When you show up and march with determination and passion, you help send a message to Monsanto that they will never stop the resistance against GMOs. We want to tell them they should find a way to transition out of the market while they still have time. Let Monsanto know that We the People won't tolerate their genetic poisoning of the planet and the food supply!

#3) Learn more about GMOs and why they're so dangerous for life on our planet

By attending these rallies, you'll also learn a huge amount of valuable information about GMOs and why they're so dangerous to us all. You might even learn something so powerful you feel compelled to share it with others.

And that's how this works: Gathering knowledge and sharing it with the people around you so that they, too, can learn to avoid GMOs. Let knowledge be open-source!

#4) Listen to great speakers who share a message of inspiration and solidarity

At every city, speakers will be sharing their wisdom and rallying the crowd with inspiring, informative live speeches. Listen to these speakers and you'll learn a lot!

#5) Meet and interact with like-minded people

Want to meet informed, intelligent, health-conscious people who aren't dumbed-down like everyone else? Meet them at the March Against Monsanto!

Think about it: What kind of people come to these marches? The top 1% of the most informed, "awake" and environmentally-aware individuals on the planet. That's my kind of crowd!

#6) Send a global message to food retailers that they should drop GMOs

Food retailers will also be watching this event, and as more and more people protest GMOs, more pressure will be placed on retailers to either label GMOs or drop them altogether.

And that's what we want! At minimum, we want mandatory GMO labeling across the board. That way, shoppers can make an informed choice of what they're buying at the grocery store.

#7) Get some outdoor exercise while joining a noble cause

Joining the march will give you a fantastic opportunity to get some healthy exercise while marching for a worthy cause. It's not every day that you get to march with a group of fun, intelligent, informed people who truly represent the future of humankind (because they care about genetic integrity).

If for no other reason than this, join the March Against Monsanto and enjoy the stroll!

#8) Raise your spiritual karma score by standing up for universal justice

Need a little help in the karma realm? Marching against evil is always a good thing; especially when you're taking a stand for universal justice: food freedom, farm freedom and the integrity of seeds on our planet.

The time to do something good is now!

#9) Show off your cool protest sign!

Bring an awesome protest sign and show it off to the crowd! I'll be marching with my own sign, and I can't wait to see what everybody else comes up with, too.

Make your sign large enough to be easily read in photos and news cameras. If your sign is awesome enough, it will get major play on the 'net!

#10) Be part of a truly grassroots, non-hierarchical, non-centralized global protest

This entire event has come into existence organically, with no central planning or coordination. I don't even know who put this together in the first place. And it doesn't matter, you see, because as long as we each continue to do our part on this, we can feel hugely rewarded in knowing that millions of other people are also doing their part for the same common goal: the global outlawing or labeling of GMOs.

Join us in this march for the sole reason that it is the right thing to do. Become part of a peer-to-peer, decentralized movement of justice against a terrible evil that threatens our planet. Feel the power of the People as you join in this meaningful, grassroots effort to banish corporate evil from our food and farms.

I'll be there in Denver tomorrow - reppin the earth and common sense with all my heart! This is one to scream about til you're coughing up blood - this company wants to play god over us all

Monsanto is The Umbrella Corporation. If there is EVER a zombie apocalypse...it will be Monsanto that creates it.

wish there was something closer to sacramento...... ill be there in spirit :)

no surprise from corrupted senators, .........they don't represent the people, they represent Monsanto.

so what do we do about it?

In my world? WE vote them out. Unfortunately, most of US can't be bothered, and the rest of US keep incumbents.

Who was voted out and who replaced them ...and who was it who made appropriate changes?

It seems to me that for every corrupt politician that gets voted out there are 15 more new corrupt pricks waiting to take his/her place. If by slight chance someone gets elected who is genuine it isn't long before he starts wallowing with the other piggies and ends up corrupted like all the rest.

and for the record I don't bother to vote..IMO they don't count...it's just an illusion to make you think you have a choice. I take the George Carlin philosophy.

Well....I have a dream. That dreams involves putting every politician who has IMO committed treason on trial. Then hang the guilty on the lawn at the White House. The next step would be to chase out all the lobbyists. Lobbying needs to be made illegal. That would be a start.

Funny....I posted a meme with George Carlin about politicians the other day. Did you notice the run time on the video?

Someone wants to repeal the monsanto protection?? lol about freaking time. let's just see if he gets to actually doing something.. good luck though. Everyone should be banning any purchase that monsanto is a part of. hit them where it hurts. only solution.. or buy there stock lol it's on a freaking tear...

Then you are one of the millions who just... lets... shit... happen. Don't try to make them accountable, because the presupposition is it won't work. And so, with that, we carry on our merry way. I agree with George about GIGO, but that's hardly a reason, for *me*, to say Fuck it, I'm no longer participating and just letting shit happen to me. Thought, that does make it a lot easier to complain, doesn't it? Never mind trying to do anything that might make the system or method better, just bitch and then cop out. Now, that's American!

I've said it before and I'll say it again--we can't complain about corruption when we all practice it at all levels. And we do. Don't get me started about the laziness and apathy.

Once again SM..tell me who have you voted out and replaced with someone who actually made a difference?

It's my strong opinion that nothing has changed in all the years of so-called "voting."

Whether voting is legit or not ...we still have the same problems...and nothing is getting better. In fact it's getting worse.

Do you think that just maybe this voting process isn't working?

Ah, my stance and POV is different. I feel nothing is really any worse than it ever was (with regard to governance). I can't say I've voted 'in' anyone, because I tend to vote for those who aren't popular, which means that many I've voted for don't actually win. Why's that? I tend to stay away from the 2-party paradigm, whereas most others don't.

When I ran for a local seat in government, I got a whopping 2% of the vote. Those *I* tend to vote for tend to get similar numbers. Do I blame the (voting) system? No, I blame my fellow citizens--those who don't bother to vote, those who use not one iota of intelligence when voting, and those who vote for entrenched ideas. My votes go towards those I feel are the best candidates, they tend to be independents and Libertarians, they tend to be not part of the 2-party system.

However, I can claim to have voted in good initiatives and propositions, like 215. :) That's another area where voting works, and folks like yourself are just... letting it happen to you. Again, I won't simply allow others to determine my future for me, I MUST participate, I WILL have a voice.

What I'd really like to know is what other alternative we have, outside the 'been there done that' anarchy, monarch, oligarchy, dictatorship, fascism-under-the-guise-of-communism biz. Got any ideas? And, really, how's that not voting thing workin' out for ya? While I'm not entirely happy with how things are, I also feel that we have things a lot better than in times past (especially reading about a dig at a forgotten cemetery at London Hospital, oh man!).

What we need are real, true, accountable and honest people that desire to have their lives absolutely torn apart by big business money that couldn't earlier buy them. None of these honest people want anything to do with the shady shit life of a politician. Same reason all of us just say o well on election day.

What is the definition of insanity again? ;)

SM, If you are interested, you may want to read Ron Paul's books. New Zealand did some good things there as well.

back on topic: I think the Monsanto march thing is a good thing..as bringing awareness to and from the grass roots is always productive.

I vote and will continue to do so as is my constitutional right. I am a supporter of Ron Paul and I have read many of Andrew Napolitano's books regarding the dismantling of the US Constitution, in particular "A Nation Of Sheep" which points the blame to us and our "non participation" in the machinations of government.

And, my love, as we've discussed over the years, I've been following the good doctor since the 80s. Doesn't do a thing to change my stance. What's funny is that he's one of the incumbents I'd be likely to vote out, simply because he *is* an incumbent. There are also policies and ideas of his to which I am diametrically opposed.

We can march against Monsanto, but we're not getting them out of government anytime soon, not at this rate. What we must also remember to do is vote with our dollars. We have a collective force that has some weight, even if we're all just small fish in a big pond.
