I have absolutely no problems with people who choose to vote. I try not to attack them or throw sarcasm their way. I also think it would be nice if the people who vote felt the same way about the people who choose not to vote. Respecting people for their differences seems hard for some people to fathom.

I'd also like to make it clear that I do not blame people who vote for what is happening in this country. IMO, it's far beyond the voting thing and the rabbit hole goes much deeper. I also believe it's unjust for voters to put blame on non voters. The only thing any of that does is separate us as people and the division makes us weaker.

I also think playing in the machines of a governmental system that is beyond control and systematically broken is fruitless. How many years has the same old shit been happening? (definition of insanity?)

It's only my opinion that there are better ways to participate in making peaceful changes to a US government that is beyond repair. Before one can play in the machinery, the current system needs to be dismantled and tossed into the scrapyards and a new model needs to be created...."For and by the people."

I am for limited government based on republic beliefs. (which btw is NOT democracy)

I agree with George about GIGO, but that's hardly a reason, for *me*, to say Fuck it, I'm no longer participating and just letting shit happen to me. Thought, that does make it a lot easier to complain, doesn't it? Never mind trying to do anything that might make the system or method better, just bitch and then cop out. Now, that's American!

I've said it before and I'll say it again--we can't complain about corruption when we all practice it at all levels. And we do. Don't get me started about the laziness and apathy.

george was a smart man and when he said "GIGO", he just insulted the millions of Americans who can't be bother to avail themselves of the truth. I'm bothered that Kolah doesn't see that Carlin is casting a critical eye toward...."us". George is basically saying "If all you fuckers are that apathetic, if you're all to not willing to educate yourselves, then what is the point?"

Kolah...You support Ron Paul. I do too. I voted for him, did you? Any idea why he may have lost?

We don't live in a Democracy. We live in a "Representative Republic"...Big difference. We are governed by the "Rule of Law" which is of course is called the U.S. Constitution.

Some things George said I don't agree it..esp his attacks on overweight people. As I stated in my above post I try not to insult others from their choices and beliefs. I like s lot of Georges outlooks on things because they hit on reality issues. Some people need to be hit over the head to get the message and that's George's approach. I'd rather avoid that and find gentler ways to make people re-think their beliefs.

As I said earlier in this thread (and other thread) I don't vote. And I won't insult anyone who chooses to vote. Although I will express my opinions of the so-called voting process which I think is total bunk. Just an illusion to mae people think they have a voice. And every now and then they throw out a bone to make it appear as if it is legitimate.

I do not support any politician. IMO the current system is broken and beyond repair.

I like Ron Paul's views and his simple solutions. If people could work at his ideas at the grass roots levels and take it to a County level we may have something to actually embrace. I think it's pretty obvious why RP didn't "win." And, if he would have "won" he would have been used as a scape-coat and probably ended up like Abe and JFK, the two others who wanted to end the fed. and their fiat currency scheme.

The "rule of law' is dead in this country. If you have ever been in a courtroom you can easily see it does not exist. Nor does the constitution mean much anymore.

I am done here..back on topic. :)

Kolah, I don't know if you ever watch television, but we've caught a few episodes of what's turned out to be a fascinating program about our Constitution, called Constitution USA with Peter Sagal. Last night's episode happened to feature what's happening in Iceland. You might enjoy the program, or you might be maddened by it.
