The problem is that it further develops fungal hyphae--what the larvae, I assume, are feeding on.That's not good sea maiden. I've heard gnatrol works well. Have you tried compost tea for the fg? I've read some things but never tried.
Thank you! If I get a 1:1 ratio, I should be good, I hope. :)@Seamaiden You know I got your back if you need extra seed starts right? Should have a fair amount extra if I get 50-50 male/female ratio.
What's Pure Protein? Anything like aminos? (I have a bag of aminos stashed somewhere, and I also have a lot of Ca25, didn't really use it last year.)I like to use Pure Protein Dry the day before the Cal25. They just BLOW UP after the combo. Nice looking plants, healthy ladies.
Never, and I am in agreement with JF, it's to do with transpiration, not nutrients, and not Mg. However, what I see generally in hot plants is canoeing downward, not the rhododendron-like upward cupping (rhodies cup upward when it's cold, to conserve moisture). Remember that Mg is highly, HIGHLY mobile, too, and a really easy tell as to whether or not it's involved is to give a foliar using 1/4tsp/gal water. If you see any changes they should be notable and quick, like in hours to a day.Today I fed with the above alfalfa mixture Which has fish so that is promising.
On a side note: I've noticed when I feed the alfalfa soak (2-3 week soak)I get the leaf curl around the edges indicating a MG def. I think it the alfalfa is pushing the plant hard without enough Epsom salt.
Anyone else get this?
Been there, done that. I think I have a special problem, honestly. Just found another pole bean that had begun to sprout, and the little fuckers ate it. You'd think the parasitic nematodes would have been the death knell, ya know?Seamaiden - I've been reading up on capulators bunnies and it seems he has the trick for fungus gnats.
@ Seamaiden Fantastic stuff right here.
Gah! I just whipped past an article, can't even recall if it was online or in print. I'd try Bt and Spinosad in rotation, doing applications in the evening.Anyone have any tricks for cucumber beatles? They're pretty bad this year.
