MEDICAL marijuana could soon be a reality in Australia after several parties, including conservative Queensland backing, showed support for a new regulator of the substance.
A bill to create and regulate a medicinal marijuana industry in Australia was introduced to the Senate on Thursday.
Representing four parties, it was backed by senators Ian Macdonald, Richard Di Natale, David Leyonhjelm and Anne Urquhart.
The move to regulate medicinal marijuana has also been supported by lower house Nationals MP George Christensen and PM Tony Abbott has previously backed the move.
