Also it matters how far you live from cali, fox farm is in humboldt california. If you live on the east coast then the dirt has a long journey before you ever see it. That means more time and places to get infested. Fungus gnats are everywhere outside and there are breather holes in the soil bags.
 
Happy frog is Fox Farm. Fox farm is the company name, it all depends on how your supplier stores their product,they are the ones with the infestation. Do they store it outside or inside?
As I stated before I have not had any problems with their soil, I'm using it now..

They had it in the store. But you could see tiny air holes up the seams of the bags. Does this sound right?

That makes a lot of sense thank you for the info. Maybe on my next grow I'll try and find a good soil mixture.

I put some seed starter dirt in the middle so hopefully they'll take root fine. Now I have to find a good root solution for stronger roots. Since I have such big pots.

Almost all of your bag soil is coming from Cali... Lots of peps are using Roots 707 soil with good results.
