I know not all water uncreated equally in terms of mineral content and alkalinity, but does anyone who’s used MC in straight pro-mix have any suggestions based on their successes?

I haven’t got a whole run in yet with the promix (mines off brand local stuff but still peat based “promix like”) and I haven’t phd my water, things are looking great for now: ) also using Green leaf with some added Gaia in there for the long run.

Hey Rama, I just finished my 3rd grow after switching to Promix and Mega/Bud Candy and their (Sea Kelp the last 4 weeks). By far they were the 3 best runs I've had (ever). I really only wanted to see what that simple method would do and I was blown away by the results. I had gone down the rabbit hole of thinking I needed to add more and more to my arsenal of nutes and soil blends etc. I now have a box of stuff I may never use because I'm not going to change. I love the no-stress grows I've had, other than some mites I have seen not one deficiency.
I have City water with aound a PH of 7.2 but haven't touched a meter or ph buffer in a year.
I think the only tweak I have done is to add more perlite and rice hulls to the Promix

I'm using Megacrop with Promix now in autopots (not connected, watering by hand) . Strain is Mohan Ram which were free seeds with a purchase years ago.

It's very early in the grow. 2 leaves per plant were pinched off the top this morning to open light for lower branches. I use tap water that sits for a day, not PH'd. The plants got topped 4 days ago to try and spread out very tight node spacing. I've never had plants that had such short internodes before.

Can I get away with not ph

Can I get away with not ph ing in all mix because some say I should and some say no it will buffer my last crop seemed locked out for a few week but I think that was the cold I've got a blue lab pen but its old and I don't trust it but don't wanna spend 100 quid on a new one also don't wanna buy a cheap on if it's gonna be crap

Do you mean ProMix all purpose mix ?

If so, similar ingredients as HP Except for the time release fertilizer and I do not ph my HP...

  • Canadian sphagnum peat moss
  • Peat humus
  • Perlite
  • Limestone
  • Controlled release fertilizer
  • Mycorrhizae - PTB297 Technology

Cheers

You don’t need to ph bud

Different animal but still no problem 😉

Biobizz products only contain natural organic elements rather than mineral salts such as magnesium or sulfates that you might find in synthetic fertilizers. This gives All·Mix a high Electrical Conductivity (EC) value. And while its organic elements are impossible to measure, they do have a self-regulating system, which helps maintain the pH values at the correct level.
Cheers

I use RO water and when I add megacrop, my ph is definitely under 6

When I water to runoff (again just pro mix bx and megacrop exclusively..), I get a reading of about 6.1-6.2

I know you guys have all said that you don’t check your ph, but if you have in the past during healthy pro mix megacrop runs, do you recall what your runoff ph was at?

I don't water to runoff or check ph. Plants get water and nutes I choose that day and grow. Megacrop is added at much lower levels than company suggests and plants still grow well.

I let water sit for a day before using since we have chlorine etc. in the water. The plants don't seem to mind what they get.
