Meter question

I have a question about a new p/h meter and a ph /tds monitor. Will it make any difference how far the probe goes down in the solution ?Is putting the probe a couple inchesd in the rez or just throw the probe all the way down in the solution , the correct method ? Or does it make any difference ?

Is it a Truncheon type? Most of the small pen type you're supposed to measure a sample outside the res. At that mine only goes in an inch or so otherwise you'd fry the electronics inside.

No it's a hand held meter with a probe on the end of a cable or wire
